Draw date edit

Draw date of UEFA Champions League was held on 21 July 1994 because I watched on YouTube main issue of BRTN Journaal from this day. --188.47.121.84 (talk) 07:15, 5 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Casino/Austria Salzburg edit

User:Renamed user qAmatuB4raPru7UcUs6ahamuq (previously ExitiumNL) has been changing the 1994–95 UEFA Champions League and 1995 UEFA Champions League Final articles so that the team originally referred to as Casino Salzburg is not referred to as Austria Salzburg. According to FC Red Bull Salzburg (the club's current name), the club was named SV Casino Salzburg in 1978 and went by that name until 1997, when they came under the sponsorship of Wüstenrot-Gruppe and became known as SV Wüstenrot Salzburg. Obviously Wikipedia cannot be a source for itself, so I don't take it on face value that the club was known as Casino Salzburg during its participation in the 1994–95 Champions League, so it's possible that the user formerly known as ExitiumNL is right that they were in fact known as Austria Salzburg at that time. I have checked UEFA.com's history pages, however, and they say the club is (and always has been, due to a quirk of their website database) known as "FC Salzburg". No help there, especially since UEFA doesn't recognise sponsored names anyway. It's only when I look at the club's info page on Transfermarkt.co.uk that I find the first mention of Casino/Wüstenrot Salzburg, albeit only via the medium of historical club logos. But digging a little deeper, it seems that Transfermarkt does acknowledge the name Casino Salzburg (see here – "SQUAD SV CASINO SALZBURG - SAISON 94/95"). The evidence that I had shown ExitiumNL previously was not so in-depth, but I hope that he will see this post, acknowledge it, and hopefully not continue this pointless edit war. – PeeJay 22:46, 1 October 2017 (UTC)Reply
