Hey,

I love the name of the topic overall it sounds interesting and definitely makes a reader wonder before they read the article overall. I think the article overall is good, and it's an interesting story, I'm sorry it happened but it was interesting to read. One suggestion, I have that might help is to link the following: Indianapolis, Indiana, Black Panther Party, Kokomo riot (if there was a article written on it, if not disregard it). If I was reading this article say again I might be interested in knowing who is the black panther party and how it was related to the riot. Otherwise the only other suggestion I would say is check your spelling throughout the whole article, I get spelling is hard sometimes for people but bric isn't spelled bric, it's spelled brick. And sevre is spelled severe. Hopefully that helps, but otherwise I think it's an interesting topic and I don't know much about Indiana but this sounds cool and hopefully it might shine a light on Indiana so people know more about this riot that occurred. Great article! In general, I think you found four useful sources that cover a wide range. I broke my feedback to follow your section headings: Intro- I think this provides a good general overview of the event. I would suggest adding the specific dates of the riot to the intro so that readers have that context right away. Apartment Significance- This was an interesting section but it makes me want to know more. Do you have any other information on the neighborhood/surrounding area (e.g. What is the socioeconomic context like?) Also I suggest editing the second sentence for clarity to "The residents of the complex were predominantly Black..." Could you provide more information on what makes this apartment complex a cultural hub? Black and Police Relations in Indianapolis- I suggest clarifying which group you're referring to when using "they." Could you provide more information about how the police worked to stifle "black militancy?" Are there more examples you can point to? Do you have more information about the mayor (e.g. name, background, how long they were in office, etc)? I'm a little lost between the increase in police surveillance and the charge/conviction of Black Panther members. Could you provide more information on how this happened and the fallout? The Riot- Could you provide more information about the alleged fight (e.g. who was involved? what time?)? Were there any other events between the crowd throwing things at the police and the following looting? Are you able to find any numbers of people arrested, injured, etc? Aftermath- What was the opportunity for people to air their grievances? Was it a community meeting? Could you clarify who AA officers are? What was the time span between this riot and the Kokomo riot that followed? Yenakimwalker (talk) 06:25, 4 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
