One-Term Governor Defeated for Reelection edit

I do not know how many times an incumbent governor has been defeated for reelection after serving only one term, but it has happened at least once since 1962. In the election of 1980, Bill Clinton, the one-term Governor of Arkansas, was defeated for reelection by Frank D. White.Alexander Springstea (talk) 03:35, 26 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

It also happened in Florida. In 1970, Reubin Askew defeated one-term Governor, Claude Kirk, and in 1990, Lawton Chiles defeated one-term Governor Bob Martinez. Alexander Springstea (talk) 03:38, 26 June 2023 (UTC)Reply
