Originally scheduled date edit

The article says the race was originally scheduled for the 2nd of October, but these newspaper reports say the Grand Prix was originally scheduled to be held on the 1st of October[1][2], @A7V2: did you make a typo here? FozzieHey (talk) 22:57, 14 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Nye gives the date as the 2nd: "...and October 2 was granted as race date until larger issues clouded the scene." However it does seem odd that it would originally be on a Sunday then be rescheduled to a Saturday, so it's not impossible Nye is incorrect. Are you sure the articles you've mentioned refer to the date of the race and not of, for example, the start of official practice? A7V2 (talk) 23:39, 14 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Yes, the Coventry Evening Telegraph article specifically mentions the race: "The Donington Grand Prix race, which was postponed from October 1 on account of the international situation, will take place on October 22." There's also more articles mentioning October 1st from different publications. FozzieHey (talk) 23:40, 14 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
Definitely looks like Nye's error then so probably should change it. I wonder if it had already at some point had its date changed? I'll look into it at some point if/when I get the time but probably the accuracy of dates on which events did NOT take place isn't a high priority! A7V2 (talk) 04:17, 15 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
No doubt about it it was 1st not 2nd. Eg this calendar of British events in the January issue of Motorsport shows the 1st not the 2nd [1]. A7V2 (talk) 04:31, 15 July 2020 (UTC)Reply
