The ref to aviastar was removed as contributory infringement per WP:EL, yet without indication of what source work is said to be infringed. If there's a track record of such infringement at that site, a link would be helpful. The site lists an extensive bibliography, though it does not provide citations on its individual articles. The most obviously related book in the list would be:

Cause and effect

Nice to see we have an article on this important early accident. What is missing is the cause and the changes made to air navigation rules afterwards.

As I understand it, both aircraft were following a road or railway line for navigation. The British aircraft was keeping to the left of the feature, and the French aircraft was keeping to the right, thus placing them both on the same side of the road/railway going in opposite directions. As a direct result of the accident, the rule was adapted from maritime practice of "pass port-to-port", or keeping a road or railway to one's left when following it as a navigational aid. I'm sure I've read this in a book on aviation accidents, but am not sure which one. If anyone can reference this before I can find the source, please add it to the article. New Article Title

This article needs a new title as "first mid-air collision of airliners" does not follow the system for the rest of aircraft incidents without flight numbers. I would suggest something like "Mid-air collision of 7 April 1922" or "Picardie mid-air collision" or some variation thereof. -Noha307 (talk) 21:37, 21 December 2013 (UTC)
