I removed the last paragraph, it doesn't really fit with an encyclopedia. As for the rest of the article, I like what is there and it needs sources.... there is a lot of information there and one of the foundations of Wikipedia is WP:V verifiability. Sethie 01:35, 14 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I thought the consensus was to restore 19th century teams to the way they were named at the time, not the artificial Baseball Encyclopedia ret-cons (hence Mutual of New York or Mutual Base Ball Club (New York))Solicitr (talk) 00:22, 19 April 2020 (UTC)Reply
