Birthplace
Until recently this biographical stub stated, as one of the few facts known about Mathé, that he was born in Australia. On the imdb and other major film sites, this information remains. His Wikipedia entry, however, was suddenly changed without explanation to state he was born in Courbevoie. I am not saying this is wrong. I don't have his birth certificate in front of me. But the person who changed it, one would hope, is relying on some scource they have not cited.
The closest thing I have been able to find to an online scource is this chatty little blog, the author of which has looked at one of the contemporary obituaries. http://silentsareentertainingtoo.wordpress.com/2011/10/12/m-edouard-mathe-matters/ Obviously, it is not the best source.
