In July 2012, Hayat was named the new "Curvy Icon" by Vogue Italia.[2] In September 2013, Hayat named on the FHM sexiest women in the world list in position 81.[3]

She was a contestant on Bigg Boss 7 in 2013.[4][5] She entered as a wild card entry but got evicted on 12th week on 8 December 2013 (Day 84).[6]

Personal lifeEdit

Sofia is of British Asian descent.[1] She was born and raised in Gravesend, Kent, England in a Muslim family with three sisters and two brothers.[citation needed]

She holds a BA (Hons) in Music and Performing Arts, and has studied acting for seven years, including the Meisner Technique, of which she is a fan.[7]

In June 2016, she announced that she has embraced spirituality and become a nun. She adopted the name, Gaia Sofia Mother.[8]

On 1 March 2017 Sofia got engaged to her boyfriend Vlad Stanescu an interior designer by profession after dating him a week. On 24 April 2017 Sofia and Vlad got married in a private ceremony in London. Sofia divorced her husband Vlad after completing one year of their marriage anniversary.[9]
