Shal (Persian: شال)[a] is a village in Shal Rural District of Shahrud District, Khalkhal County, Ardabil province, Iran.

editAt the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 1,594 in 378 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 881 people in 295 households.[5] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 1,217 people in 397 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[2]
