Prix Iris for Best Casting

The Prix Iris for Best Casting (French: Prix Iris de la meilleure distribution des rôles) is an annual film award, presented by Québec Cinéma as part of its Prix Iris awards program, to honour the year's best casting in films made within the Cinema of Quebec.

The award was presented for the first time at the 19th Quebec Cinema Awards in 2017.[1]

Nathalie Boutrie received the most nominations, eight, and is the only casting director to receive two awards. She and Marjolaine Lachance are the only casting directors to receive multiple nominations in the same year: Boutrie in 2020 and 2022 and Lachance in 2021.

Five casting directors received nominations for films they also directed: Xavier Dolan won the inaugural award in 2017 for It's Only the End of the World. Denis Côté and Kristina Wagenbauer were both nominated in 2019 for Ghost Town Anthology and Sashinka respectively. Sophie Deraspe and Myriam Verreault were both nominated in 2020 for Antigone and Kuessipan respectively, with Deraspe winning the award.
