Merger proposal edit

I propose that Portal:Prostitution be merged into Portal:Sex work. Both deal with the same subject, but the Portal:Sex work is more broad.Guilherme Burn (talk) 11:16, 13 December 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose - I'm sure a multitude of strippers, cam girls and dominatrices would disagree sex work and prostitution are the same thing. The situation is somewhat confused by academics and NGOs using the term fsw (female sex worker) rather than prostitute in most cases. Prostitution is probably the largest part of sex work if you judge by number of people involved, although pornography is larger if you judge by end users. Both are sub-sets of sex work and warrant their own portals. --John B123 (talk) 17:24, 13 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose - Prostitution is a type of sex work, that is, a subtopic. And, it is so broad that it has its own navigation footer, which is what its portal is populated from.    — The Transhumanist   16:42, 15 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • Support - Distinct but largely overlapping topics. We don't need a cruft standalone portal for every single thing. – Finnusertop (talkcontribs) 18:56, 20 January 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment - This discussion has been going on for nearly 2 months now with little interest. Is it time for it to be closed? --John B123 (talk) 15:40, 10 February 2019 (UTC)Reply
