2009 Former nominations

Broadwater Farm

Some bias here as I wrote large chunks of the current version, but I think it would be nice to have a showcase article about something that isn't the usual tour guide/history textbook material but reflects the ordinary lives of Londoners. Too many people's perception of the area is based on a single event over 20 years ago, and I think it would be nice to show a wider audience a bit of the more mundane side of London — iridescent (talk to me!) 15:44, 27 August 2007 (UTC)

Chelsea F.C.

Just made it to GA. It'd be nice to showcase it, in particular since part of the Victorian market has been recently saved as a result of a public enquiry against the demolition plans backed by the City of London (Aug 7, 2008). Cleveland Street scandal

Just noticed this whilst going through assorted London-related articles checking if they were appropriately WPLondon/WPLT project tagged. This one had somehow managed to slip past our collective radar; a genuinely good article on an almost totally forgotten aspect of London's past. Baden-Powell House

One of the less well-known buildings in the South Kensington notable-buildings sprawl, and one of the definitive buildings of 1950s brutalism. – iridescent 17:55, 20 March 2009 (UTC)

• Support (by a frequent editor): good choice: notable yet often unnoted. Interesting fact is that this year it will be 50 years since the highly celebrated Foundation Stone Laying on 17 October 1959.
