Suggestion to either remove the last sentence "See this page for details", or remove the first link on the page (which happens to be a redirect to the page in question). — Andy W. (talk ·ctb) 03:50, 14 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

Change "Only newly created pages can be marked as patrolled. This is done via a link at the bottom of the new page." To "Newly created pages can be marked as patrolled via a link at the bottom of the new page. Pages under pending changes protection are patrolled by pending changes reviewers." ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 16:45, 13 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

@ONUnicorn: can you provide some background to this request? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 12:45, 14 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
@MSGJ: Sure. The current patrol log header erroneously claims that the only pages that can be patrolled are new pages. This is incorrect. Pages that are under pending changes protection show up in the patrol log when someone with the pending changes reviewer right accepts the edit. If you take a look at my patrol log, for example, you will see that most of what is there are pages under pending changes protection where I have approved an edit; very few of them are new pages that I marked patrolled. Most of my new pages patrolling shows up in the page curation log, but that only works for people using the page curation toolbar. Oddly enough, pending changes reviews also show up in the review log. At any rate, since pending changes reviews show up in both the patrol log and the review log, the header for the patrol log should be changed to properly indicate what is being displayed. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 14:07, 14 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
This is the first time I have heard the word "patrol" used in connection with pending changes. I knew about the review log, but I wonder why they are also displayed in the patrol log and whether this is actually the intended behaviour ... — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 14:21, 14 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
Well, no one else expressed an opinion so I've made the change — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 18:21, 16 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Revert the latest change from October 2016, pending changes reviews definitely don't show up in the patrol log anymore and patrolling individual revisions is not technically possible as far as I know (apart from page creations). Also add This is done via a link at the bottom of the new page or using the Page Curation toolbar. Dylsss(talk contribs) 18:02, 11 April 2021 (UTC)Reply
