Singles edit

The album's first single "Sweetheart" was released alongside the announcement of the album on July 1, 2019, it marked her first release since her 2015 album Sleepwalker.[4] On July 30, 2019, the album's title track was released as the second single[5] and, on August 20, 2019, the track "Getting By" was released as the album's third and final single.[6]

Means to Me received good reviews from music critics. Critics applauded Leslie Bear's vocal delivery and vivid imagery, but found that the later half of the album was too indiscernible.[7]
