Marion is a given name. As a feminine given name, it is a French diminutive of Marie that has been in use by English speakers since the Middle Ages. It was also occasionally considered a form of Margaret or Margery. As a masculine given name, it derives from the Latin given name Marianus, a form of the name Marius.[1]
