History
editJeepney TV was launched on October 22, 2012, in preparation for the 60th anniversary of its parent network, ABS-CBN, the following year.
In 2015, the channel revamped its graphics and program lineup, and its programming schedule was overhauled.[3]
In July 2018, Jeepney TV became available on ABS-CBN TVplus on a free trial basis until the franchise expired on May 5, 2020.[4] On June 1, 2020, Jeepney TV temporarily took over ABS-CBN's channel space for ABS-CBN TVplus users due to the expiration of its franchise. On June 30, 2020, Jeepney TV ceased broadcasting on both ABS-CBN TVplus and Sky Direct following a cease and desist order by the National Telecommunications Commission, related to the expiration of ABS-CBN's congressional franchise. The channel continues to broadcast on Sky Cable, Streamtech's Planet Cable and other cable television providers.[5]
On August 1, 2020, Jeepney TV began livestreaming some of its content, along with Kapamilya Channel, on the online video-sharing platforms Facebook and YouTube as part of Kapamilya Online Live.[6]
The channel was made available on G Sat Channel 55 on October 5, 2020;[7] SatLite Channel 37 on November 19, 2020;[8] Cignal Channel 44 on January 4, 2021;[9] and Cablelink Channel 9 on February 15, 2024.
On April 15, 2024, some Jeepney TV programs began broadcasting on free-to-air television through All TV as part of the Jeepney TV sa All TV programming block, following content agreements signed between ABS-CBN and AMBS. The official launch of this programming block commenced on May 13, 2024, along with the debut of a simulcast of the morning talk show Magandang Buhay, marking the program's return to ABS-CBN's former channel frequencies after four years.[10][11]
