The show's title is inspired from the former popular line of the same name from the drama series Dream Dad.[2]

Magandang Buhay premiered on April 18, 2016 at 7:30 AM, replacing the defunct morning talk show Kris TV. The program is hosted by Karla Estrada, Melai Cantiveros, and Jolina Magdangal.[1]

On June 21, 2016, the show moved to its new timeslot at 8:00 AM.[3]

From some time in March 2020 until May 5, 2020, the show was instead aired live via work-from-home arrangements through Zoom Video Communications due to the Enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.

From May 5, 2020 until June 2020, the show temporarily suspended airings due to the temporary closure of ABS-CBN due to the cease and desist order of the National Telecommunications Commission after the franchise expired.

On June 15, 2020, the show will resume its taping of new episodes for broadcast on cable-and-satellite channel on Kapamilya Channel every weekday mornings 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM.[4]

However, from July 13, 2020 until September 25, 2020, the program aired replays of past episodes.

Occasional Guest hostsEdit

Magandang Buhay is interrupted in some provinces via ABS-CBN Regional Network Group. The 9:30 AM timeslot is used to air an afternoon program pre-empted by a provincial TV Patrol Regional newscast. During the coverage of NBA on ABS-CBN every year, Magandang Buhay is either pre-empted or reduced to sixty minutes. The program can be also pre-empted to give way for special live coverages of international beauty pageants like Miss Universe, presidential/midterm elections, and many more.
