- Gnathonemus echidnorhynchus Pellegrin 1924 (Blunt-jawed elephantnose)
- Gnathonemus longibarbis (Hilgendorf 1888) (Longnose stonebasher)
- Gnathonemus petersii (Günther 1862) (Peters's elephantnose fish)
