Xavier Mascaró is a Spanish sculptor and painter born in París. He has lived in Madrid, New York, London and Mexico City. In 2002 he was appointed emeritus by the Spanish Academy in Rome. He currently lives and works in his studios in Mexico City and Lisbon.
Mascaró has French, Romanian and Catalan heritage.
Mascaró has a prolific sculptural career with works that have been exhibited in cities such as Paris, Caracas, Vienna, Monte Carlo, Cartagena de Indias, Madrid, New York and London, among others.
His installations of monumental works have recently been shown in London, Madrid, Seville and Málaga[1] after being presented for the first time in the Jardin du Palais Royal in Paris in 2008.[2]
In 2014, he had a solo show at the Saatchi Gallery[3] in London.
He has recently exhibited his large-format works in Abu Dhabi,[4] Mexico City,[5] Barcelona[6] and Tijuana.[7]
