Markian Tarasiuk (born April 2, 1993) is a Ukrainian Canadian actor,[1] director, editor[2] and producer. He was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for work in the television movie Christmas Jars.[3]
Life and career
editTarasiuk is a Manitoba native, born in Winnipeg.[4] He had had a keen interest in performing from a young age. Markian got his start performing at the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre in Tom Dudzik's stage play Over the Tavern[5]. After performing throughout his teens at various local stages in Winnipeg, Markian attended Studio 58 at Langara College in Vancouver, BC and graduated in 2014.[6]
Markian made his on screen television debut playing Brogan Van Skioh in the Disney XD movie Bunks.[7] His television credits include roles on iZombie, Supernatural, Take Two, The Murders, 50 States of Fright, The Magicians, and recurring roles on Shut Eye, Virgin River, Project Mc2, and Surface.[8] His television movies include playing Wade Robson in Britney Ever After,[9] Rich Hawthorne in Why Can't My Life be a Rom-Com?[10] and appearances on the Hallmark Channel.[11]
Tarasiuk made his theatrical screen debut in Christmas Jars.[12] Markian received a 2021 Canadian Screen Award nomination for Lead Actor in a Television Movie for his portrayal of Ian Maxwell in the film.[13] In 2021, Tarasiuk's role as Jackson Pace, in the feature film There's Someone Inside Your House garnered an ACTRA/UBCP nomination for an Actor in a Supporting Role in 2022.[14]
