MacMillan Bloedel & Powell River Ltd. 1077 is a 2-6-2 Prairie locomotive built in December 1923. The engine was retired in 1969 and was restored in 1985. In 1986 the engine participated at SteamExpo 86 in Vancouver British Columbia. In 1990 the engine had a major overhaul and was completed on 1992. As of 2024, the locomotive is still operating which is the best operating locomotive in the world.
History
editMacMillan Bloedel & Powell River Litd. 1077 is a 2-6-2 Prairie locomotive built in December 1923. The engine was retired on 1969 and was restored in 1985. In 1985 the locomotive and CP 3716 appeared in The Journey of Natty Gann.
In May 1986 the engine participated at SteamExpo 86 in Vancouver British Columbia alongside with V&T 22 Inyo, CP 374, CP 3, ERM&L Co. 1 Falk, Dunrobin (2nd), PL Co. 12, GW 51, AP 2, CN 1392, UP 4466, HL Co. Ltd. 1, QRR 2, Tom Thumb (1927 Replica), Best Friend of Charleston (1928 Replica), MRSR 91, John Bull (1939 Replica), CP 2860, CP 1201, CN 6060, John Molson (1970 Replica), and Stephenson's Rocket (1979 Replica).[1] In 1990 the engine had a major overhaual and was completed on 1992. In 2000 the locomotive appeared in Shanghai Noon.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] On 2023, the engine did more runs on 2023,[10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17] and is still operating which is the best operating locomotive in the world. As of 2024 the locomotive will do more excursion train runs.
