editLeo Almodal (Tagalog pronunciation); born 19th January 1983 is a Filipino fashion designer based in Pasig City, Metro Manila. He launched his self-named fashion line in 2013.
Early life and education
editBorn on January 19, 1983, in the heart of Cebu province, Mandaue City, known as the furniture center of the Philippines. Leo is the eighth of 9 children of parents Elpedio Ygot Almodal and Wilhelnina Rustia Caleza. At age 17, Leo started designing and making uniforms for varsity teams at his university and dressing muses. Raised by a dressmaker and a tailor, he aspired to be famous in the world of haute couture and wished to be part of the Hollywood Red Carpet.
Almodal fabricates and manufactures opulent, noble and sophisticated gowns, not only for brides but for many more creations that are already known in the USA, Canada, Italy, United Kingdom, Japan, and Africa. An Almodal creation is best characterized by rich and intricate beadwork, most often genuine Swarovski crystals, interwoven into the fabric of the gowns.
Leo Almodal is the Creative Director and Fashion Designer of his own brand, ALMODAL. Driven with his passion for the arts, he is aiming to break into the international fashion scene one magnificent gown at a time.
