Kudumbasthan (transl. Family Man) is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language family entertainer film directed by Rajeshwar Kalisamy and co-written along with Prasanna Balachandran.[1][2] It is produced by S. Vinothkumar under his banner Cinemaakaran.[3] The film stars K. Manikandan and Saanve Megghana in the lead roles, alongside Guru Somasundaram in a prominent role.[4]
The film has music composed by Vaisagh, cinematography handled by Sujith Subramaniam, and editing by Kannan.[5]

editAfter completing the shooting for the film Lover (2024) by the end of November 2023,[6] actor K. Manikandan joined hands with the debutant director Rajeshwar Kalisamy,[7] which was tentatively titled Manikandan's Next.[5] Nakkalites fame Rajeshwar had cowritten this comedy-adventure family entertainer script along with Nakkalites co-founder and actor Prasanna Balachandran.[2] The films marks the debut of Telugu actress Saanve Megghana in her Tamil debut along with Guru Somasundaram playing an important role.[4][8] The film also features R. Sundarrajan, Nakkalites artists Dhanam, Lubber Pandhu fame Jenson Dhivakar in supporting roles.[3]
The film is being bankrolled by S. Vinothkumar under Cinemaakaran banner,[3] with Vaisagh as the music composer, Kannan as editor and Sujith Subramaniam as the cinematographer.[9][10]
Filming
editPrincipal photography began on 18 December 2023 in areas around Coimbatore in a single schedule.[2][11] The entire shooting was wrapped on 30 March 2024.[12][13]
Marketing
editOn 28 September 2024, actor Silambarasan revealed the title reveal poster, with the film titled Kudumbasthan showing multiple reactions of Manikandan doing household chores.[1][14] On the occasion of the lead actor's birthday, on 29 September 2024, a poster of him with an innocent expression holding a heart-shaped balloon was released.[15]
