Karan Adani (born 7 April 1987) is an Indian businessman and the managing director of Adani Ports & SEZ[1][2], India's largest commercial port operator, and the director of Adani Airport Holdings Limited. He is the elder son of Indian billionaire Gautam Adani the founder and chairman of the Adani Group

Early life and education

Karan Adani was born on 7 April 1987[3] in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.[4] Karan, an Economics graduate from Purdue University in the USA, completed his schooling at Mumbai’s Cathedral and John Connon School.[5]

Career

Adani Ports & SEZ Limited

Karan Adani joined Adani Ports & SEZ Limited in 2009.[6] He initially worked in various capacities within the company, learning the nuances of port operations and logistics.[7] In January 2016, he was appointed CEO of Adani Ports & SEZ.[8][9] [10]Under his leadership, the company has expanded its operations and infrastructure, becoming India's largest commercial port operator.[11][12]

Adani Airport Holdings Limited

In addition to his role at Adani Ports, Karan Adani is also the director of Adani Airport Holdings Limited.[13] The company is responsible for the management and development of airports in India, including major hubs such as Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Jaipur.[14][15]
