Kaise Mujhe Tum Mil Gaye (transl. How I found you) is an Indian soap opera that was created and produced by Mukta Dhond and broadcast on Zee TV. The series initially aimed to dispel stereotypes regarding marriage and social discrimination.
Plot
editThe misfortunes of Amruta Chitnis, a 30-year-old single banker, who refuses all marriage proposals to devote herself to her family. Her father, Jayesh, known as Jay, has an affair with his neighbor, Ishika, which prompts him to divorce his wife Bhavani. When the divorce is finally pronounced, Amruta and her younger brother Harsh choose to live with their mother and provide for her needs.
In the meantime, the wealthy Ahuja family are delighted by the marriage of their heiress, Nimrit. His brother, Virat, has not had the same luck in love because his ex-wife, for whom he sacrificed the happiness of his own family, ended up betraying him. Since then, he has promised himself never to remarry, and never to trust women again. However, his meeting with Amruta ends up making him change his mind.
At first, Amruta and Virat do not get along because of their social differences. But as they help each other to save their respective families, especially their brothers Harsh and Nimrit, their disagreement soon turns into friendship while Virat hesitates to trust women again. In the meantime, Virat's mother Babita, who hates Amruta and her entire family by relying on misunderstandings, begins to harbor jealousy towards Virat and Bhavani's closeness, soon pushing her to cross the line by making a video taken out of context between her son and Amruta go viral. Accused of assault, the former is imprisoned and the latter offers to marry her to save him. Furious at this new affair, Babita is ready to commit the irreparable to separate the future newlyweds: bring back Priyanka, Virat's ex-wife.
