Early life edit

Miraftab was born in Bolton, Greater Manchester, and grew up in Wilmslow, Cheshire. She studied dentistry at the University of Liverpool, inspired by her work experience placement in high school.[3]

Dentistry career edit

Miraftab qualified from Liverpool Dental School in 2011 before completing a senior house officer role at Kings College Hospital. She has since completed a Masters Degree in Prosthodontics and achieved qualifications in non-surgical treatments such as anti-ageing injectables.[4]

Hanna is the principal dentist[5] and owner of her own dental surgery Kiln Lane Dental[6] located in St Helens, Merseyside.

Icy Bear Dental edit

Icy Bear Dental was created by Hanna Kinsella in 2021. The brand was created to offer a way for people to enhance and maintain the appearance of their teeth.[7]

In 2023, Kinsella branched into the children's market, launching a children's line of toothpaste under brand Icy Bear Dental Cubs.[8]

Writing career edit

After the launch of her self-published book Brains Are The New Tits in September 2021,[9] Kinsella was labelled a hypocrite for sexualising her body on her pro-feminist book cover.[10]

The Real Housewives of Cheshire edit

In September 2018, Hanna joined the cast of British reality TV series The Real Housewives of Cheshire as a permanent cast member, along with Seema Malhotra, Dawn Ward, Rachel Lugo, Ester Dee, Lauren Simon, Perla Navia and Tanya Bardsley[11]. A British adaptation of the long-running American series The Real Housewives of Orange County, the series follows the lives of a selection of wealthy women in Cheshire.

Documentary career edit

In 2023, Kinsella appeared as a guest contributor on a documentary web series titled The Tooth Doctors.[12] The fly on the wall limited series follows a team of dentists as they work to treat customers at a busy dental clinic. The series was filmed at Kinsella's practice Kiln Lane Dental.[13]

Passionate about advocating the importance of oral health in children, Hanna went on to present her own documentary in January 2024 for YouTube publisher DOCO (DOCO Stories) following her work on The Tooth Doctors.[14]

Hanna Kinsella: Little Smiles follows Hanna as she puts her professional knowledge, as well as her life experiences as a mum to tackle the ongoing issues surrounding tooth decay in children throughout the UK.[15]

Both programmes were produced by former CBBC star, Sam Tullen.[16]

Personal life edit

Kinsella is married to cosmetics surgeon Martin Kinsella.[3] She has two children.[17]

Kinsella has spoken about how she has struggled with work-life balance, juggling a career on screen, being a dentist, wife, and a mum of two.[14]
