Franklin Clinton is a character and one of the three playable protagonists of the 2013 video game Grand Theft Auto V, the seventh main title in the Grand Theft Auto series developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games, alongside Michael De Santa and Trevor Philips. He also appears in Grand Theft Auto Online, the game's multiplayer component. Franklin was born and lives in Los Santos, the game's fictional recreation of Los Angeles, California, where he meets Michael de Santa while working as a repo man for Simeon Yetarian. Franklin gets fired for 'betraying' Simeon, and Michael decides to train Franklin as a criminal. They, along with Trevor who appears later on in the story, make money by staging heists. Franklin is played by American actor and rapper, Shawn Fonteno.
