Entrée Capital is a venture capital firm headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel. The company invests in various sectors including fintech, deep technology, artificial intelligence, Software as a Service (SaaS), and consumer sectors. Entrée Capital maintains additional offices in London, United Kingdom and New York, United States.

Entrée Capital was founded in 2010 by Aviad Eyal and Martin Moshal.[1][2][3] The firm is a generalist venture capital and invests in startups in Software as a Service (SaaS), Fintech, artificial intelligence, Deep Tech, Quantum Computing, Healthtech. It operates Israel and global funds, with offices in Israel, UK and in the US.[1]

Entrée Capital provides muti-stage funding to innovative seed, early and growth-stage companies, with a portfolio including companies such as monday,com, Fundbox, Riskified, House Party, Stripe, Gusto, Cazoo, Coupang, Glovo, Prospa, Snap, Deliveroo, Perimeter81, Kuda Bank, Stash, among others.[1][4] As of 2022, the firm manages over $1.2 billion in assets.[5] The firm has realized more 27 exits and its portfolio has 15 unicorn companies.[6]

  • Aviad Eyal. Co-founder and Managing Partner at Entrée Capital who has led investments in monday.com and Riskified, Blue White, Prospa.[7][2][3] Prior to Entrée Capital, Eyal co-founded several businesses, such as Cura Software. He holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and co-founded SigmaLabs, a non-profit accelerator.[8]
  • Ran Achituv joined as a Managing Partner, having previously been a partner at another venture capital firm, and prior to that serving as CTO of Amdocs and Verint.[9]
  • Erian Bielski previously worked wtih JPMorgan Chase, joined Entrée capital in 2015.[10] He was tasked with co-founding SigmaLabs.[10] became a General partner in 2018.[10]
  • Adi Gozes previously worked as a Consultant at Team8 Labs Ltd. and as an Investment Team Member at Samsung Catalyst Fund LP.[11][5] She joined Entrée Capital and became a Partner in 2022.[5]

Funding rounds and investments edit

Entrée Capital's initial funding vehicle was the Global Fund I, which raised $70 million, primarily in London. This fund made its initial investments in several global companies, including Stash, Deliveroo, Coupang, Prospa, Pillpack, and SeatGeek.

In May 2018, Entrée Capital launched its second fund, an Israeli-focused early-stage fund, amounting to $80 million to invest in Israel-linked early stage startups, in the domains of fintech, software as a service, augmented and virtual reality, and artificial intelligence.[10]

In April 2020, Entrée Capital closed its third fund with a committed capital of $100 million, its third seed fund for Israeli ventures that focused on Fintech, DeepTech, Health, SaaS and other areas. This fund invests in Israeli companies or companies with Israeli founders in Europe and the US.[1] In December of the same year, the company raised a $125 million Opportunity Fund, this time focusing in later-stage startups with Israeli founders in Digital Health, Deep Tech, SaaS and Fintech sectors.[12]

In January 2022, the firm raised another $300 million for Israel-focused ventures, bringing funds under the firm's management to $1 billion.[5][6] These funds invest primarily in startups engaged in DeepTech, Fintech, SaaS, Web 3.0, Data/Cloud Infrastructure, and DevOps, as well as Consumer and Foodtech.[5] At the same time, Entrée Capital announced that former product manager, Adi Gozes, has become a partner in the firm.[5] Entrée Capital secured an investment from Abu Dhabi's Mubadala Investment Company that same year.[13] This was made possible through Eyal's collaboration with Mubadala Investment Co.'s venture capital head, Ibrahim Ajami.[13]

Community Involvement edit

Entrée Capital has been involved in initiatives to support early-stage startups. In 2015, in collaboration with Yahoo!, it helped establish SigmaLabs, a pre-seed accelerator.[14] This program was designed to assist new companies, particularly in the areas of marketplaces, enterprise software as a service (SaaS) solutions, video technology, and financial technology (FinTech). Eran Bielski from Entrée Capital was assigned to manage the accelerator.[14][15]

In addition to its investment activities, Entrée Capital has also engaged in support efforts during times of crisis. For example, during the Israel-Hamas conflict in 2023, the firm's employees reportedly worked extra hours to assist those companies in their portfolio that were affected or displaced by the conflict.[16]
