Colin David Ellis (born September 11, 1969) is an award-winning British author, culture consultant and motivational speaker. He has written seven books, four of which have been best-sellers. His books include Culture Fix (2019), The Project Book (2019) and Detox Your Culture, which will be published in August 2024.

Early life and education

Ellis was born in Whiston, a suburb of Liverpool. He attended Rainhill High School from 1981-1987.

Career

Ellis worked for a number of private sector companies in various roles in the UK

until emigrating with his family to New Zealand in 2007 to take a role in federal government. He emigrated to Australia and took a state government role. Upon being passed over for a promotion to a senior leadership position, Ellis decided to start his own consultancy, specializing in project management and the transformation of workplace culture.

He also speaks at events around the world, largely on the topic of culture. He is the host of the Culture Makers[1] and Culture and Coffee[2] podcasts as well as the co-host of the Inside Out Culture[3] podcast with former Olympic athlete Cath Bishop.

Both the Project Book and Culture Fix were nominated for awards in the 2020 Australian Book Awards. Both books were finalists in different categories in Business Book of the Year with The Project Book named as General Business Book of the Year.[10]
