Alberni Pacific 2 is a 2-truck built on June 28, 1912 by the Lima Locomotive Works orginally as Weist Logging Co. 1. In 1918 the locomotive was sold to the Alberni Pacific Lumber Company at Franklin River British Columbia as US Army 7089. Between 1936 and 1952 the locomotive operated as Alberni Pacific 2 in the Ash River Valley. In 1950 the engine was retired and a few years after that, the locomotive was donated to the City of Alberni in 1952. The locomotive was donated to a park and stood there on display at a small park at the corner of Third and Redford Streets until 1978. In 1980 Robert Swanson decided to restore the locomotive into operating condition, and the locomotive returned to service on August 1984. In 1986 the locomotive went to Vancouver to participate SteamExpo 86. On 1994 the locomotive made its last run. As of 2024 the locomotive is on staic display and not sure if the locomotive's going to be restored into operating condition.

Excursion Service (1984-1994) edit
In 1980 Robert Swanson decided to restore the locomotive into operating condition, and the locomotive returned to service on 1984. In May 1986 the engine participated at SteamExpo 86 in Vancouver British Columbia alongside with V&T 22 Inyo, CP 374, CP 3, ERM&L Co. 1 Falk, Dunrobin (2nd), PL Co. 12, GW 51, CN 1392, UP 4466, HL Co. Ltd. 1, MB 1077, QRR 2, Tom Thumb (1927 Replica), Best Friend of Charleston (1928 Replica), MRSR 91, John Bull (1939 Replica), CP 2860, CP 1201, CN 6060, John Molson (1970 Replica), and Stephenson's Rocket (1979 Replica). On 1994 the locomotive made its last run.[1][2] As of 2024 the locomotive is out of service on static display and doesen't know if they are plans to restore it into operating condition.[3][4][5][6][7]
