Roxburgh was educated at Stowe School and Trinity College, Cambridge, before studying for a Masters in Business Administration at Harvard Business School. He is married to Karen Pierce, a British diplomat who is the Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the United Nations. Together they have two sons, born 1991 and 1997.
