Incidentally, we now have a user adding some Indian persons to this category. I'm a little uncomfortable with this. For the Chinese Patriarchs, at least we can say that, in general, their status as Patriarch is not much less historical than the person himself. However, the putative Indian Patriarchs are people who often notable in their own rights, and it might be misleading for the readers to see them described as "Zen Patriarchs" when there is no non-religious historical evidence that this was the case at all. Maybe we should move this cat to Chinese Zen Patriarchs?- Nat Krause 17:37, 23 July 2005 (UTC)Reply
