The word "Zotung" has been in existence after British rule in Chin Hills. Zotung people never called themselves as Zotung.It is supposed to be given by other ethnic groups from Chin Hills. The people from Rezua town and near by vilalages called themselves as "Zo Mingphuin" (mingphuin= people/race). They clled their mother language as "Zo Bya" (bya=language) and their literature which was invented by Paw Khua Ming in 1933-34 is called as "Zo Ccaw" (ccaw=literature). The using of the word Zotung among its people is very few. If we are looking to its historical records, it would be very difficult/hard to see the word "Zotung". For example, ZSBB, ZMK and ZMBA are very distinct historical records in these people's history. The original longform of ZSBB is "Zo Sia-imua Bawmku Buu" (Zo Students Coorperation Organization) and the longform of ZMK is "Zo Mingphuin Kaethungnaw" (Zo People Development). ZSBB was founded from 1958 and the name was changed from ZSBB to ZMK in 1999-2000. ZMBA was one of the most distinct religious organization in Chin state after the seperation of ZBC. ZMBA was founded in 1953 under the leadership of Paw Khua Ming and its longform is "Zo-Matu Baptist Association". The word "ZO" from ZSBB, ZMK and ZMBA does not represent to the whole Chin State. It was used for only one ethnic group who are living in Rezua town and near by villages. Not only because of these historical records, but, because of other traditional and cultural heritage names, I do not agree that the word "Zotung" is the right ethnic name of my people. So I would like to claim that the real ethnic name of the people who are living in Rezua and near by villages is Zo Mingphuin and their language is also Zo Bya (Bya cannot be pronounced as Bia-- this is unusual word in Chin Hills)
