Pre-Republic of Ireland elections

edit

Should we put up a notice telling readers that the elections to the first and second Dáil were Ireland-wide, and the name was not "Republic of Ireland" (but "Irish Free State") before 1949? — Instantnood 18:06, Apr 24, 2005 (UTC)

The Irish Free State existed before 1938 and not after. From 1937 to 1949 the Republic of Ireland was called "Ireland" and this remains the states official name. Djegan 15:43, 4 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

Change of government in 1994

edit

Perhaps the change of government in 1994 without an election should be somehow displayed on this page.
