American Jews of Latvian descent makes absolutely no sense. Most of the persons categorized in this category were born in the time of the Russian Empire, and at the time Jews and Latvians were two different ethnicities, not nationalities. Latvian only became a nationality in 1918 when the Republic of Latvia was proclaimed. The correct terminology for people descending from Jews born in the Russian Empire would be American Jews of Russian descent. Talk/♥фĩłдωəß♥\Work 18:24, 25 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
