Encantadia (2005 TV series)

Enter your reasoning here and then click the "Save page" button below -jmarkfrancia (talk) 09:23, 25 September 2016 (UTC) The article Encantadia (2005 TV series) was deleted after Encantadia (series) was moved to Encantadia. Encantadia article is about the 4 installments of the series, the whole franchise, while the Encantadia (2005 TV series) is merely about the 1st of the 4 installments. Can somebody bring it back? Thank you

Nevermind, the page is now up and working, thank you.

@Vensatry:   Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at WP:Articles for deletion/Ritika Singh, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user King of Hearts (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. JohnCD (talk) 18:00, 23 September 2016 (UTC)
@JohnCD: Actually, her win came shortly after the AFD's closure. I was redirected here after I made a request at the closing admin's talk page. Will contact the other admin. Thanks, Vensatry (talk) 07:46, 24 September 2016 (UTC)
@Vensatry:This is complicated. The deletion log shows that the article was deleted by King of Hearts after the AfD, deleted twice more as copvio, and then deleted a fourth time and salted by RHaworth. What somebody has to decide is, whether this one award is significant enough to provide the notability as an actress that was not found at the AfD. That decision does not seem to me clear-cut ("award-winning" is almost meaningless nowadays, there are so many) and I think it falls to King of Hearts as closer of the AfD.
I actually undeleted the un-copyvio versions of the article, planning to move them to Draft. I failed to check first whether there was already a draft, but in fact a better Draft:Ritika Singh has been written by Editor 2050 and is in the queue for review. So I re-deleted the old ones (complicating the history yet further), and have left a note for the AFC reviewer suggesting that, if the article is accepted, KoH should be asked whether it should be sent to WP:DRV or re-listed at AfD. Technically not deleted yet, but it's tagged as G4 and has been repeatedly deleted so   Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. •   Not done I don't think this is a good idea while the DRV debate is in progress. Instead you can take a copy to the draft, and mention your new draft at DRV. If DRV decides to keep, or use the draft, then you can update the article or merge the draft onto the article. Normally in a DRV we would not allow the temp restored page to be modified, and that would also mean not moving it to a draft and editing there. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 00:59, 27 September 2016 (UTC)

  •   Not done This has copyvio in it from here and here and it makes up a large portion of the page. It's also fairly promotional in tone too, which is likely a result of the WP:COPYVIO. You can work on a new version of the article, you just cannot use text that has been previously published elsewhere. It must be re-written in your own words. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:22, 20 September 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for the information Tokyogirl79. The article had not been submitted for publication but the Draft was deleted because of inactivity. I realize that elements of the article, as it existed at the point of deletion, had been pulled from other sources, as I was using those as fact checking elements while I was writing. It was never my intention to leave them there for the final product. The majority of the article has been formatted within wiki so if I can't get that original back, I will have to start from square one. As you can imagine, I would like to avoid that. I am new to wikipedia and didn't realize the extent of the time constraint.

I hope you will understand this situation, and allow me to undelete the article so that I can continue to edit my original draft. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Benjamin James (talkcontribs) 22:00, 27 September 2016 (UTC)

restore file and filepage (with license and fair-use rationale). This image should be used on Euro-Asia Cup as Wikipedia is not a newspaper, any logo of the event is a valid logo, not just the logo for the 2016 edition (which will in any case be outdated in 2017, since there's a new logo for that event). The person who removed the logo from the article did not upload a replacement, so the old one should be restored and used in the article, as it is historically accurate, and the article still covers the past, not just the current year. -- -65.94.171.217 (talk) 08:23, 28 September 2016 (UTC)

Battle of Tápióbicske

Hi, I noticed that you want to delete my article project, because it is nothing in it. Yes it is nothing yet, but I just wanted to write it, when I saw your speedy delete selection... I started this article today morning, but I had to work in my job, but now I am back to write it... It will be a big article which I will fill it with content, references, notes, and everything which is needed foir an article about history. I started to write some days ago articles about the battles in the Hungarian Revolution and Independence War of 1848-49, and this is one of them. Brought books to write it professionally and with references, paying lots of money for these books. Now I started to write them... I dezvolted from a scratch till yesterday the Battle of Isaszeg (1849) and I made the Battle of Hatvan. Now I am writing the article about the Battle of Tápióbicske from 4th April 1849. Do not delete it! In this very moment I start to write it! Because I have a job, I cannot make it in a moment, I have to make breaks, I need one or two days to finish this article, but in this very moment I start to write it! I hope you understand me. Thanks. — Sylvain1975 (talk) 17:15, 29 September 2016 (UTC)

@Sylvain1975: the article has not been deleted, but next time it would be better to start in a draft page with a name like [[Draft:<article title>]], and move it to the main encyclopedia when it is ready. See WP:Drafts for more detail. That way, you can build the article in your own time, with no pressure. It does not need to be final and complete before it is moved, but it should be complete enough to tell a reader what it is about and why that is interesting or important. Alternatively, you could use a sandbox of your own, like [[User:Sylvain1975/<article title>]]. JohnCD (talk) 16:55, 29 September 2016 (UTC)

@Gorkemcetin74: Who is "we"? A similar request was declined in January due to being too promotional; see Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion/Archive 217#Draft:Countly. The article you're requesting restoration now is a copy of that other one, with the same problems. Furthermore, you haven't addressed the concern about conflict of interest that was brought up in your last request. Administrators are reluctant to do things for users who won't abide by legal requirements to which you agreed when you registered your account — specifically your requirement to disclose any paid editing or conflict of interest. ~Amatulić (talk) 17:15, 30 September 2016 (UTC)

We = Countly. I would only need a copy, so I am ok that it wont be placed on Wikipedia. I can get it via email as well. I am not sure what I should disclose about paid editing - we have paid someone to write for us (approached us saying that he is a Wikipedia writer), and he/she put our article online. I was specifically told that it's not our fault. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gorkemcetin74 (talkcontribs) 19:55, 30 September 2016 (UTC)

@Gorkemcetin74: If you are a paid employee representing Countly, or otherwise have a conflict of interest related to Countly, please put a note to that effect on your user page User: Gorkemcetin74. I'm not sure what you mean by "not our fault" but Countly is ultimately responsible for anything Countly causes to happen on Wikipedia, and that responsibility extends to Countly's representatives and paid contractors, who must abidie by legal requirements as described in Wikimedia:Terms of Use, as well as the content policies that prohibit using Wikipedia for promotional or publicity purposes.

Problems with condensing boiler technology - the end game?

Enter your reasoning here and then click the "Save page" button below -Diogenes Loquitur (talk) 09:31, 2 October 2016 (UTC)

The subject matter was accused of soapboxing, an essay, without citable research, and without supporting evidence. All this is incorrect. The problems of this technology are widely discussed in UK media at very responsible levels for well over ten years now. 7 quality references are given. The attendant problems of the technology affect peoples' ability to survive (the 'eat or heat' debate). Our scientific evaluation shows the boilers do not save carbon, or natural gas usage as the technology breaks down four times as fast as the older technology. Major national install companies say the boiler life is only 3-6 years, the older technology is 20 years. All this is well discussed in the quality press in the UK. We are wanting a re-test of the attributes of this domestic boiler and inclusion of sustainability and longevity factors in its design and claims, and also a system to report on ongoing problems that can then be rectified. We wish this type of ethical and responsible design protocol to be made available for other key life preserving technologies, to ensure their environmental and carbon pollution credentials are met. This current technology fails all of these credentials, this has been observed by tens of thousands of users and many national installers. We wish to use WIKI to place the argument in public conscience, and to follow it through with corroborating independent science evaluation and reporting. It is therefore also a living Campaign article.Diogenes Loquitur (talk) 09:35, 2 October 2016 (UTC)

If you want to work on a new copy you should do this at WP:AfC, in your own words and in a non-promotional manner. It looks like you're probably a paid editor as well, so please read over the WP:COI guidelines. I have no problem with you working on a new article at AfC, but it cannot be promotional like it was. • It looks like this was restored and one edit was made, but not really anything major and the page went stale and got G13'd a second time. My concerns are twofold:
  1. Can you give us some sort of reassurance that the page will receive more substantial edits this time around?
  2. Can you give us proof that this topic is notable enough for an entry?
I'm concerned that the entry is essentially a page about a neologism and doesn't really expand on the existing article Barbecue. This term has really only caught on recently and most of the time it's used in sort of a cutesy manner, when it is even used at all. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:09, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

George Miller (entertainer)

George Miller is now one of the influential internet personalities on the internet. Therefore, George has branched in many sections in entertainment such as music and humor and has a started a mass following. This presence has gotten him recognition and accomplishments on YouTube so much so that it is noteworthy to explain his background toward his upbringing. There is enough reliable resources on the deleted page to fully credit the authenticity of most of the information placed. -Fernandillo1 (talk) 04:43, 4 October 2016 (UTC)

  •   Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/George Miller (entertainer), it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Lankiveil (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 05:17, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
  • This is extremely unlikely to be restored any time soon and there were attempts to create this at Filthy Frank, which led to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Filthy Frank. I understand that it's really, really difficult for internet personalities to gain media attention but right now he just doesn't seem to pass notability guidelines. Popularity does not make someone notable. I also have to add that right now the fanbase is actually doing him more harm than good as far as Wikipedia goes. Every time the page is recreated and deleted, it becomes that much harder to argue for notability. Case in point, PewDiePie. People tried creating his article before he passed GNG and recreated it so many times that by the time he was clearly notable, there was still a huge pushback to him having an article. His article was even deleted only months before he became the most subscribed channel on YT. Not in a specific area, but most subscribed overall. That's how difficult it was to create an article for him. It also doesn't help that the fanbase has repeatedly tried to insert information about him to various articles like the film Chef. Please stop and just work on the draft article Draft:Filthy Frank. At this point it's become so bad that it will take a lot for him to meet guidelines. Ashesh Shah Photography LLP

Dear Editors, I am Ashesh Shah and a photographer based in Mumbai. I have more than two decades of experience in this field. I have a very legitimate firm registered with Indian Ministry of Corporate Affairs. According to me it might not to possible for a good photographer to get an opportunity to appear or get their name on the internet. when I was working as a Journalist I used to get mentioned in the magazine or newspaper in the form of a bye line. Than the internet or google search was available. Hence I cannot produce any direct references. Not many photographer in India has such resisted firm in place. I am very proud to have such a firm. What ever I have mentioned in the article is hundred percent true. I have all physical proof of what ever i have mentioned about my company or me. I request you to please do not delete the article.

(Note: User:Corporate and industrial photography has changed his name to User:Ashesh Shah Photography, which to me still looks like the name of a company and not an individual — pinging User:Céréales Killer who renamed him.) Also, Ashesh, you are strongly discouraged from writing about yourself, please see Wikipedia is not about YOU. I'm sure your firm is legitimate and your pride in it justified, but the deleted article (which I can still see as I'm an administrator) is inappropriately promotional ("Shah has drawn immense admiration and awe from his corporate clients in India and Indian subcontinent for his mesmerizing photography", etc), which is exactly what's likely to happen when people write about themselves. As Jeremy says, your only recourse is to talk to the deleting administrator. Bishonen | talk 17:12, 4 October 2016 (UTC).

File:Zimbabwe $1 billion 2008 Obverse.jpg

The file was deleted as F8 - a copy on commons. However that has been deleted as of 8 Sep 2016 throwing up a missing file error on Banknotes of Zimbabwe -KylieTastic (talk) 19:28, 12 September 2016 (UTC)

Seems reasonable, but I trust that there won't be any WP:NFGALLERY complaints if the file is restored as non-free? Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 19:31, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
It's a bit odd that they singled out that one file in many - I'm wondering if it was just tagged wrong? Maybe it was left as Non Free from EN:WP and not re tagged like the rest i.e. its other side File:Zimbabwe $1 billion 2008 Reverse.jpg is marked as public domain. KylieTastic (talk) 19:50, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
It was tagged as free {{PD-ZW-currency}}. Commons has such a template as well but commons:Commons:Deletion requests/File:Zimbabwe $1 billion 2008 Obverse.jpg sounds like this wasn't considered at all - pinging @INeverCry and Ellin Beltz: to get their input. Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 19:58, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
The Commons template mentions the need of the note to have been demonetized. Has this 2008 banknote already been demonetized? If so, I can easily restore the commons image and tag it with PD-ZW-currency. INeverCry 22:58, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
There's a claim in the edit history here that it was: "06:11, 21 June 2010 . . Marianian (talk | contribs | block) (461 bytes) (→‎Licensing:: Licence change: Banknote demonetised in April 2009)" No source or anything else beyond the edit summary, though. —Cryptic 23:15, 12 September 2016 (UTC)
All we have in the Commons history is a fair-use rationale that somehow lasted from Nov 2010 till it was tagged for deletion last week... But a note being printed and demonetized within a year or less sounds a bit off, though admittedly currency is an area I've never touched (currency-related DRs are pretty rare at COM:DR). I'd have to see a source for that 2009 claim to restore it on Commons myself though. INeverCry 06:37, 13 September 2016 (UTC)
  • Since this revolves arround Marianian's comment pinging them to see if they have a source for the statement. KylieTastic (talk) 08:31, 13 September 2016 (UTC)
  • this document covers the demonetizeation of the 2008 Trillion dollar notes with 10 Trillion being valued at USD$0.04 so making this 1 Billion worth USD$0.000004 so allthough I cant find an explicit statement of this note it seams clear that all these notes issued in 2008 were demonetized. KylieTastic (talk) 10:39, 13 September 2016 (UTC)
  • So any comment on the above? Looking at the actual article and doing some googling it appears the hyper-inflation did end in the demonetisation of all these old notes that became valueless. @Jo-Jo Eumerus, INeverCry, and Ellin Beltz:. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 16:35, 17 September 2016 (UTC)
commons:User talk:INeverCry#Currency of Zimbabwe is where the discussion happened, it's held up by a technicality it seems. Do you want a preliminary local restoration? Jo-Jo Eumerus (talk, contributions) 18:54, 17 September 2016 (UTC)
  • Hi Jo-Jo Eumerus, sorry I wasn't aware the discussion had moved. I don't 'want' anything as I have no interest in the subject per se, I was just flagging as it was an inconsistency I noticed as part of my 'work' I do here. It would seam that either all of the notes are valid or invalid, just picking on one side of one is just weird. These sort of copyright issues confuse me, so I'll leave it to those better suited. I only added this as it seamed things had just stalled. All the best KylieTastic (talk) 19:07, 17 September 2016 (UTC)
I nominated only one to get the discussion going in hopes we could get it all fixed at Commons. You might have been really upset if all of them were nominated simultaneously. So one was picked on which to have the discussion, and we're working on it. Sorry that it's seemed to go slowly; it's fire season out here and I was without power/internet off and on for five days. I am certain that the discussion will be resolved shortly and most likely this one file will be restored. Thanking you again for your patience. Cheers! Ellin Beltz (talk) 20:11, 17 September 2016 (UTC)
Restored from Archive as issue not yet dealt with and commons:User talk:INeverCry#Currency of Zimbabwe had also been archived. Is the discussion on this ongoing in another place? KylieTastic (talk) 10:50, 25 September 2016 (UTC)
I'm happy to restore the image if you tell me what tag to put on it to prevent it from being deleted again. Otherwise it's unlikely you'll get a response from an admin. ~Amatulić (talk) 04:52, 27 September 2016 (UTC)
Hi Amatulić, I believe the correct tag is {{PD-ZW-currency}} supported as per my comment above and this document shows that higher value notes were demonetized so a note worth worth even less (USD$0.000004) would have been also. I had hoped the commons people would have decided either to restore or remove all, but it appears just this one will remain deleted unless they are discussing somewhere else now. Cheers KylieTastic (talk) 19:17, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
@KylieTastic:   Done. The file is restored. It already had that tag in it. I just removed the link to the deleted Commons page. ~Amatulić (talk) 21:30, 4 October 2016 (UTC)
