Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/MANTA Mui Ne: Development of new national sport of Sailing for Vietnam

I, MANTA Mui Ne, request the undeletion of this Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13. Please userfy or restore as appropriate. MANTA Mui Ne (talk) 03:21, 10 September 2013 (UTC)

Dear HasteurBot,

Apologies, i let this article expire. If you can resurrect it, i shall review and consider rewriting it soonest, especially as i believe there was a conflict of interest issue i first had to understand/resolve (and i do not remember the exact article).

There were some other issues which distracted me,

(a) a land-grab mudslide issue: https://vimeo.com/72533622 password: manta

(b) national sailing development (probono) duties which included an intensive International Olympic Committee scholarship course to draw the national sailing plan (with kiteboarding, windsurfing, dinghy and keelboat sailing), while the sail-trained fishermen ran the sailing school to international standards of sailing and safety.

Thanks for your time on this.

Please let me know if you have any questions on Vietnam's sailing.

Best wishes, Julia MANTA Mui Ne (talk) 03:21, 10 September 2013 (UTC)MANTA Mui Ne

Free RPG Day

REASONING 1.The speedy deletion criteria cited in the speedy deletion notice was that it "appeared to be about a club." This is not correct; Free RPG Day is not a club. 2. Free RPG Day is more properly categorized as an ongoing special even such as International Museum Day, Free Comic Book Day, Comic-Con or Gen Con, or a social movement such as the Occupy movement. 3. The article was speedily deleted without discussion or a chance to respond. 4.Free RPG Day is similar to Free Comic Book Day, and that page was not deleted. 5. It is possible that the Free Comic Book Day article and the Free RPG Day article could be merged, but it might be more confusing that way. 6. If the notability of Free Comic Book Day is under dispute, then it should be the subject of discussion and NOT speedy deletion. 7. If more reasons are needed, please let me know. 8. If the article needs more or better citations, fixes, editing for language, a rewrite, and update, or some other fix, the answer is not speedy deletion. 9. If the nature of Free RPG Day is unclear from the article, I or someone else should fix that, but I can't fix an article that is gone and I'd rather not start again from scratch. 10. I JUST GOT the notice of proposed speedy deletion today. It seems a bit disingenuous to put something in speedy deletion when a very similar page (Free Comic Book Day) should have been obvious as a sister event. Also, I don't know how it "appears to be a club." 11. When I created the article, I tried to figure out a place to put it as a sub-article. However, there really isn't a place that I could identify as a proper main article because it is not really a subsidiary of Free Comic Book Day, although there are some crossover participants. 12. The article will be helpful to any person seeking information for a school report, as a fan, as a journalist, or as a current or potential participant in Free RPG Day, which is an international event. --Vampyrecat (talk) 16:42, 10 September 2013 (UTC) -Vampyrecat (talk) 16:42, 10 September 2013 (UTC)

P.S. If you follow this link to my user page, you will find citations that I found today and plan to add to the article. This will update the article. More importantly, these links and the accompanying text will help improve the scope and clarity of the article by explaining Free RPG Day more comprehensively. --Vampyrecat (talk) 18:12, 10 September 2013 (UTC)

Not done - this article has not been restored because it does not appear to meet our guidelines for inclusion of articles about companies. In general, Wikipedia considers a topic to be notable if there exist multiple reliable sources of information on the topic, external to the subject itself. Articles concerning companies will be deleted on sight if they are considered to be unambiguous advertising or promotion, or if they do not contain a credible assertion of the significance of the subject.
That was nothing like an encyclopedia article. It was an advertisement, written in the first person: "Being a co-op allows us to offer you a wide range of options... We firmly believe that family is a priority... " full of promotional fluff: "the very best in Open Source web and portal development... skilled team of translators, graphic designers and programmers to develop you a fantastic web portal... " and listing your charges.
Or maybe it was a joke? "Total assets: AUD$ 7.6 undecillion (2013)" That alone qualifies it for speedy deletion as a blatant hoax. Pull the other one, and try Myspace. JohnCD (talk) 19:32, 10 September 2013 (UTC)

The first version you submitted was declined because it had no content; then you added content, but you never clicked the "Re-submit" button, so it has just been sitting there. However, it needs more work before it could be accepted, particularly more references to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources to show that the term is in general use and establish Wikipedia:Notability. Hi Lindsay campbell, to get your article accepted I can make these suggestions. There are some vague sources, but most are too generic to use. For example "New Zealand Electoral Roll" should have a year and possibly a page number or section (eg electorate) so that someone could confirm. "Seaman’s records" is extremely vague. Family anecdotes are not usable here as they are not published, and so count as not verifyable. Also we need to tell which facts came from which source. Miss Anne

reasoning -Agalus (talk) 13:36, 12 September 2013 (UTC) While wikipedia is not a dictionary, it does provide context of culturally and socially relevant terms that may not be understood by the lay reader. In academia and certainly in literature, Miss Anne is a term that is loaded with historical relevance. It's a very specific expression used to refer to a group of women in a particular, unusual context.

Done - as a contested proposed deletion, the article has been restored on request; but I have replaced it by a redirect to the existing article Miss Ann, which is about the same subject, and I suggest you add any new information to that. The information on that page was correct and is from reliable sources. The page was made by a banned user (Which rule G5 states that banned users can't make pages), but the page is made correctly. So, there was no need to delete it. -Pikachu4170 (talk) 23:41, 12 September 2013 (UTC)

  • Comment: The "correctness" of the page is not relevant. The banned user in question is one of several hundred socks of the case documented in Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Morning277. I deleted and protected the article from being recreated (since it was created multiple times), so I won't take action on this one, but just wanted to provide the context. WP:CSD#G5 is there for a reason. ~Amatulić (talk) 01:32, 13 September 2013 (UTC)

Not done and will not be done. If they don't like it, they can ask for their money back, and perhaps the word will get around that Wikipedia doesn't take paid editing. Morning277 is an industrial-grade spammer, deliberately operating below the radar by starting a new sock account for each client - over 300 identified so far. If we keep his "good" articles, the ban is completely ineffective, he can just go on starting new socks and throwing in his paid-for articles to see which will stick. The only way to put him out of business is to see that all his paying clients find their articles deleted. That's why the policy is WP:BAN#Bans apply to all editing, good or bad. If we let him go on, we might just as well take paid ads and collect the money ourselves. JohnCD (talk) 08:09, 13 September 2013 (UTC)

Not done. The article was deleted from the main encyclopedia because it reads more like a press release than an encyclopedia article, and because, being connected with the Foundation, you have from Wikipedia's point of view a WP:Conflict of interest, and so should not be posting articles about it directly. Wikipedia is not a "notice-board" site like Myspace or Facebook for people or organizations to talk about themselves. Please read the Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide and Wikipedia is not here to tell the world about your noble cause.

Hello, Thanks for review but i did read the guidelines and rules before submitting this article, this is not about me and all data is verifiable by proper authenticated documents and media like newspaper cuttings which i can forward you. This page is made as a tribute to Dr. Vipin Brar who revolutionized the doctor's profession and his visionary leadership has helped recruiting thousands of doctors by Government in Punjab. In my view, he saved many lives and does deserve some credit.

In Punjab He's a big personality. This page is in no way a autobiography or advertisement and instead do serve as a report of historical event that took place in Punjab. -Coolvipcandy (talk) 18:32, 15 September 2013 (UTC)

It was deleted as promotional. I think this tone can be corrected though. The references to newspapers are a bit vague however. Do you have the newspaper name, and dates published and page numbers too? Or a link to the web page? I would suggest that you work in a sandbox at User:Coolvipcandy/Vipin Brar. If you can agree to this I can put your old article there. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 20:49, 15 September 2013 (UTC)

The page was tagged as G11, however, Wikipedia's own policy states: "Note: An article about a company or a product which describes its subject from a neutral point of view does not qualify for this criterion. This article was written from a neutral perspective. Ample references and information was provided to back up any claims." -MkhitarSparapet (talk) 01:52, 15 September 2013 (UTC)

I'll have to disagree - once the advertisement article started to talk about "Capabilities" (about 1/3 of the overall text), it entered into the realm of "unambiguous promotion". As I see not suggestion of notability. Two of your "refs" are back to the company itself, and the other 2 ref's are not at all related to the company - one merely is a Gartner article that lists cloud providers, not companies providing solutions ES&L 10:18, 16 September 2013 (UTC)

Not done. Lana buchyk was a copyright violation from http://lanabuchyk.com/?page_id=69, so cannot be restored - see WP:Copy-paste. In any case, it was in a far too promotional and unencyclopedic style: "Due to her charisma and extroverted personality, new opportunities soon flooded in... Bardel Entertainment

This page was first deleted through WP:PROD and subsequently through WP:CSD. I would like all of the revisions of this page (that is, from all three deletions) to be restored. I attempted to discuss this with the deleting administrator of the most recent revision, but the administrator in question simply ignored my request to explain the refusal to restore. Note that I am willing to edit the article to address the concerns brought up, but I would like as much material to work with as possible. -Dogmaticeclectic (talk) 07:34, 17 September 2013 (UTC)

Done, partly. I have omitted a number of revisions from the second creation which were copyright violations from the company's website http://www.bardel.ca/company. I made a fearful hash of the partial restore (not enough coffee) but have finally got it right. As this title was salted by Bbb23 (talk), I have userfied it for you to User:Dogmaticeclectic/Bardel Entertainment. This article was originally deleted because an editor said it didn't fit the guidelines for inclusion on Wikipedia. It was re-created adding multiple national citations and substantiation for why it should be included - and its conformity with Wiki rules for inclusion. This person is a significant figure in the emerging digital media and social media genre. All citations were national in scope. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jessica Northey, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user J04n (talk · contribs).   Not done I don't know what you mean by "a reason that was not necessary", but the article violated at least two Wikipedia policies, and at least one guideline. Apart from anything else, it was unambiguous promotion from start to finish. As for limiting access to one user, that is not possible, and completely contrary to the whole spirit of Wikipedia: anything you write is free to be edited by any other Wikipedia editor.
