A few important questions...

Hello Sufurboy, I suppose it is best I come to you with my questions about this not released article https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Laramie1960/Catherine:_One_Love_is_Enough&action=submit I have returned to work on it - but already I have a lot of questions. I have more or less done the work for this article here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juliette_Benzoni and that was also the reason I wanted that extra page “Catherine, One Love is Enough”. I am in a dilemma now, because many facts I added there I could use on this new page also! As you know I have so far not created on English Wikipedia a new article, only added what I know about that author on a few article's.

  • Am I aloud to copy certain sentences from the article I worked on another page?
  • Is it possible to re-name the article I am working at? Because this is a series of seven books and I might as well add all the information on one page. So the title would have to be a bit different I suppos.

I got also a problem now with the symbols because English is not my native tongue. Is there an extra article where I can look that up? In the meantime I wholly understand why the article is rejected, even though (and that is no cheap excuse!) I have seen article's where my hair stands up. Why other countries get away like that I do not understand. Looking forward to your Feedback, thanks, have a nice day Laramie1960 (talk) 16:29, 11 September 2017 (UTC)

I would recommend visiting the teahouse for specific questions, there's a link on your user talk page. What did you want to change the name of the page to? Sulfurboy (talk) 20:28, 11 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi Sulfurboy, so, I took your advice and went finally over to the Teahouse. Would I have known how great they work there, I would have taken your advice right from the beginning. But "Many roads lead to Rom". I got it now where I must go first. I know also now (thanks to the Teahouse) that I am aloud to copy my own text. About what I wanted to change the name to, that is from: Catherine, One Love is Enough to: Catherine (Juliette Benzoni) I should have thought of that before, all else is confusing. I have added it, but I assume it is you or another who has to do that for me. However, thanks for your advices. Laramie1960 (talk) 09:44, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

I am a bit confused here. I keep getting "This submission's references do not adequately show the subject's notability" from the reviewers. But my page is identical or in some cases has more information about who I am then these drummers pages, listed below... yet their's has been accepted. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Kemper https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirk_Covington https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Adair

Whether or not other articles have been accepted or published has no bearing on whether the aforementioned article should be published. We're only concerned with reviewing your article. However, you may have noticed that all three of the pages you mentioned have markup showing they need more sources. Which is the same case for this page. We need to see substantial third party coverage of the subject before notability can be proven. And so far that is not seen on your page. Sulfurboy (talk) 15:14, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

To understand what steps can be taken to ensure that this article is fit for submission. After browsing other similar articles of notable people in the field of Medicine and Carnatic Music in Chennai it is my understanding that sources from online newspapers such as "The Hindu" are reliable sources. Please kindly reply with the necessary steps to take to improve my article, thank you.

I would recommend visiting WP:REFB and see how to properly format your sources and inline citations. Sulfurboy (talk) 15:24, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

Martin McLeod

Hi-Martin McLeod served in the Minnesota Territorial Legislature. Territorial legislators are considered notable as are state legislators. Also Martin McLeod was one of the first persons to settled in what is now Minnesota. McLeod County, Minnesota was named after him. I have shown good faith when I added more citations to the article.Thank you-RFD (talk) 15:15, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

Being on a council that oversees a county area does not qualify for notability under WP:NPOL. At minimum he would have to have served on a statewide position. However, I feel you in good faith have added enough sources to it for it to be published. But I would highly recommend adding more sources if possible. Sulfurboy (talk) 15:23, 13 September 2017 (UTC)
Hi- Many thanks for your help; Minnesota Territory was one of the territories of the United States. The United States Congress made provisions for the territories to have legislatures to provide for self government. Many of the territories such as Minnesota Territory, Wisconsin Territory, etc., were eventually admitted to the United States as states. Again many thanks-RFD (talk) 15:31, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

Hello. I thought I had added inline citations! Then removed, then added again to be sure?! I appreciate that you are busy but really, truly appreciate any extra help you have give me here. I'm brand new to this, as despite following all instructions (or so I thought) and reading all the reference links, it seems I'm still getting it wrong. Please give me an example or extra help if you can, I'm trying! Thank you, I appreciate it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Alluri

See the note I wrote. The inline citations need to be placed within the article itself, not just a list of press coverage at the end. Sulfurboy (talk) 18:38, 13 September 2017 (UTC)

Page "Shared Mobility" declined at Articles for Creation for copyright

Hi Sulfurboy,

I recently submitted a page titled "Shared Mobility", which was declined for being taken from http://innovativemobility.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/SharedMobility_WhitePaper_FINAL.pdf. While this is true, some of the page material is taken from this whitepaper, what would I have to do to show that this is in the public domain? The paper is a document from the California Department of Transportation, a government entity, and researchers at the University of California, Berkeley, a public university, and none of the work is intended to be copyrighted. Do I need to obtain something that claims that the work is in fact not copyrighted to be able to include material from the paper in a Wikipedia page? If this is not possible, can you point out which sections of the page are in violation? I would be happy to make necessary edits to ensure publication of the "Shared Mobility" page.

Thanks, Adam

1. Notability: It appears my article has been declined on the ground of "notability of the person" But the person about whom I am writing this article is an well known actress in India. She acted in more than twenty films. In many occasions she acted in lead roles. Her debut film is one of the most successful film in Hindi film industry. Generations of Hindi speaking (even non-Hindi speakers) are fond of this film. She has a huge fan following in India and abroad. Her official Facebook page itself has more than 11000 following.

2. References: I don't really understand whats wrong with referencing. I have cited from IMDb to newspaper article, as much as I could collect. Moreover Number of Wikipedia pages has mention of her name! Please guide me to publish this article...

Thank you for your review. Can you please tell me what i have to do for create a page since this company notable starup — Preceding unsigned comment added by Prasanthprasuhari (talkcontribs) 12:12, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

If you're talking about the projects on the talk page, you can add whatever projects you want. I don't assign those, the AfC one is done automatically for an accepted article. Sulfurboy (talk) 19:24, 14 September 2017 (UTC)

Thank you for reviewing. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Talan_Products

The company has won numerous awards from very notable national publishing companies and organizations. The company has been written about in articles, referenced, more than simply a mention.

When I look at other similar companies on Wikipedia WLS Stamping https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WLS_Stamping, B&H Tool Works https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B_%26_H_Tool_Works, S&Z Metalworks https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S%26Z_Metalworks, they have far fewer references and verifiable, notable articles and accomplishments.

This is my first article. I am working two others.

What can I do to get this one published as the reasons offered don't seem to me to be on the same level as the examples I have stated? I wish to learn.

Thank you for your time.

HELLO SULFURBOY, I'M NEW TO AfC PROJECTS, AND SO FOUND THIS PAGE ONLY TODAY. THERE IS A LOT TO LEARN!!

I AM REQUESTING A RE-REVIEW OF THE PAGE FOR Terrell James BASED ON,

a) A COMPLETE RE-WRITE OF CONTENT AIMED AT ELIMINATING TEXT NOT RELEVANT TO THE SUBJECT'S NOTABILITY IN THE ART WORLD, AND AS AN ARTIST. FURTHER, THE EARLIER DRAFT DID NOT ADDRESS NOTABILITY WITH ADEQUATE REFERENCES OR SOURCES. THAT'S BEEN FIXED;

b) TOO MANY MINOR EDITORIAL CHANGES TO COUNT, MOST DEDICATED TO IMPROVING THE DRAFT'S DESCRIPTION OF THE SUBJECT'S ARTISTIC FOCUS, TECHNIQUES, ETC.;

c) SUPPORTING REFERENCES WITH CORRECTLY FORMATTED CITATIONS. MY STRATEGY FOR THIS WAS TO INSERT CITATIONS WHEREVER A PERSON, SOURCE OR REFERENCE SEEMED TO REQUIRE IT.

I READ THAT DIRECT LINKS ARE DISCOURAGED, AND SO CHANGED ALL LINKAGE FROM TEXT CONTENT TO FOOTNOTE STYLE. ONE RESULT WAS THAT THE NUMBER OF FOOTNOTES SKYROCKETED - WHERE THERE WAS ONE DIRECT LINK TO THE WHITNEY MUSEUM OF AMERICAN ART WEB SITE, FOR INSTANCE, ACCOMPANIED BY A FOOTNOTE TO A LINKED REFERENCE TO THE PARTICULAR WORKS OF ART IN THE MUSEUM, THERE ARE NOW TWO FOOTNOTES (ONE TO THE MUSEUM, ONE TO THE ART). I'D LIKE TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF FOOTNOTES (AND GUESS YOU WOULD PREFER THAT TOO), JUST DON'T HAVE THE JUDGEMENT ON HOW TO DO IT.

ANYWAY, THE DRAFT IS MUCH IMPROVED AND I HOPE CLOSE TO ACCEPTANCE.

First let me say, my name is Jason Ehrlich, father of Julien Ehrlich with whom Max plays in Whitney with. I have been working to create both Max and Julien's Wiki page. Here is a link to the draft of Julien's article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Julien_Anthony_Ehrlich

Max's mom, Trina Kakacek and I put together the new draft that you are seeing for Max. The original draft that was reviewed was never meant to be reviewed. I am new to writing Wiki articles and did not know that I had actually submitted it. Sorry about that. I have included many references to back up what is being said. However, there are some facts about both Max and Julien's early life that have never been published. These facts have been included and written by Trina, Max's mom, and myself. Hope this helps.

Thank you,

Jason

Hi - you originally dinged a page I wrote on a prominent businessman named Rod MacGregor: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Rod_MacGregor

I beefed it up considerably. The guy is really impressive and is building one of the biggest solar projects in history - I think he's definitely worth inclusion in Wikipedia. Added many more citations per your point which should drive that home.

Please let me know if you have any questions - thanks!

I am asking for a second review because I understand the need for independent citations, and included three newspaper article profiles featuring Dr. Barsoum, including two from the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel and one from the Palm Beach Post. These citations are numbers 6, 7, and 20. These are daily newspapers in major metropolitan areas which would only include a profile of someone who is quite prominent. Additionally, Dr. Barsoum holds more than two dozen patents and has published more than 125 articles in peer-reviewed journals. (These are also cited in the text.) This is an exceptional output for a researcher who is still in his 40s. Within the field of hip and knee orthopaedics, Dr. Barsoum is considered a rock star. Thank you for taking a second look. New Page Reviewer Newsletter

Hello Sulfurboy, thank you for your efforts reviewing new pages!

Backlog update:

  • The new page backlog is currently at 14304 pages. We have worked hard to decrease from over 22,000, but more hard work is needed! Please consider reviewing even just a few pages a day.
  • Currently there are 532 pages in the backlog that were created by non-autoconfirmed users before WP:ACTRIAL. The NPP project is undertaking a drive to clear these pages from the backlog before they hit the 90 day Google index point. Please consider reviewing a few today!

Technology update:

  • The Wikimedia Foundation is currently working on creating a new filter for page curation that will allow new page patrollers to filter by extended confirmed status. For more information see: T175225

General project update:

  • On 14 September 2017 the English Wikipedia began the autoconfirmed article creation trial. For a six month period, creation of articles in the mainspace of the English Wikipedia will be restricted to users with autoconfirmed status. New users who attempt article creation will now be redirected to a newly designed landing page.
  • Before clicking on a reference or external link while reviewing a page, please be careful that the site looks trustworthy. If you have a question about the safety of clicking on a link, it is better not to click on it.
  • To keep up with the latest conversation on New Pages Patrol or to ask questions, you can go to Wikipedia talk:New pages patrol/Reviewers and add it to your watchlist.

Hi, article is not visible in google.

Thank you for reviewing and creating the article https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turaga_Janaki_Rani . But it is not available in the google search. I did not find the article in google, do we need to do anything to appear in the google search? Thank you once again. Nagsail (talk) 05:01, 19 September 2017 (UTC)

That's something you would have to talk to Google about. From what I understand pages typically aren't indexed in Google for at least 90 days.
  • Nagsail, please learn wikilinks thus: Turaga Janaki Rani From what I understand, Google indexes new pages within hours. Picking at random Venus In Situ Atmospheric and Geochemical Explorer created 24 hours before I am writing this. Google already has it indexed. Google has probably missed your article because of the way that it reached mainspace: user → draft → article. It is likely to remain unseen by Google until you create some incoming links to it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:29, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

Quick Question on Deseret First Credit Union

Recently you denied the submission for Deseret First Credit Union (DFCU). In your response, you state that it was not accepted because the page already exists and then you provide a link to the existing page. When I click on the link it forwards me to a page that says "This page does not exist". There are many companies that have very similar names but they are not related to this business. Can you provide me the page link that this submission already has listed? And if a page doesn't exist, do I resubmit or can you approve? Thanks for the help!

Wael K. Barsoum page

Hi Sulfurboy. I'm writing about Draft:Wael K. Barsoum. I am asking for a second review since I have improved the sources significantly. I've included feature stories from the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel (two from this newspaper) and the Palm Beach Post, plus I've cited the website of the National Institutes of Health (NCBI/NIH), the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons, Cool Cleveland and Cleveland.com websites (which are independent sources not affiliated with the Cleveland Clinic), the American Geriatric Association, and the Justia/Patents catalog.

In particular, the Sun-Sentinel and Palm Beach Post are daily newspapers in major metropolitan areas which would only feature someone who is quite prominent.

Dr. Barsoum holds approximately 30 patents and has published more than 125 articles in peer-reviewed journals. (These are also cited in the text.) This is an exceptional output for a researcher who is still in his 40s. Within the field of hip and knee orthopedics, Dr. Barsoum is considered a rock star. I'm trying to show this by the variety of sources and the number of citations.

Thank you for taking a second look.

Greetings,

I realize (according to your FAQ) that you usually don't do this, but I'm at my wit's end here and am new to editing Wikipedia, so I could really, really use your help. I submitted an article on ShowBiz Cinemas that you disapproved, citing conflict of interest, etc. I am an employee ShowBiz Cinemas, and have been desperately trying to get our page on Wikipedia up at the behest my superiors. I've read all the guidelines about COI, and have tried following them step by step, but the article still wasn't approved and I feel incredibly lost at this point. Any assistance towards showing me how exactly I need to tailor the submission to be acceptable would be greatly appreciated if you can spare the time.

Best,

ShowBizKellen (talk) 21:07, 20 September 2017 (UTC)

If your employer (who is the subject) is who is trying to get you to publish the article, then you need to state your conflict of interest on the talk page. We highly discourage people from creating pages that they have a direct relation to the subject. Sulfurboy (talk) 20:20, 21 September 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Dicsox

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Dicsox requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. 000webhost page review

Hello,

I do not understand the reason why you rejected the page on 000webhost I did (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:000webhost). The link in your comment (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(people)#People_notable_for_only_one_event) links to "People notable for only one event". How come the biggest free web hosting provider, covered by Forbes, TechCrunch, WikiHow and many others be not notable and you keep rejecting the page creation. It was fully re-written and revised as advised.

Please let me know how to correctly present all of the sources so that the page could pass the notability requirement.

Thank you so much, appreciate your help!

Daugis1 (talk) 17:47, 21 September 2017 (UTC)

The majority of the sources are PR or WP:ROUNTINE we need to see independent coverage of the subject directly, not just articles that mention the site in passing or are part of super specific databases and blogs. Sulfurboy (talk) 20:18, 21 September 2017 (UTC)

Thank you for your help! I went ahead and did the following:

  • Removed articles where the company is mentioned with no significant coverage
  • Removed articles which could be considered as PR.
  • Removed blog posts which were used as sources. They are not reliable as now I understand.
  • Included additional sources from: ISBN academic article, Huffington Post where 000webhost was covered, top-notch technical conference coverage.
  • Included additional information about the company notability (so that it would show notability for more events)

Could you take a look at the situation now and let me know whether I succeeded to improve the page.

Yo whats up dude I spent like an hour or more on this page for my school. I do not appreciate you declining it because it is a legit club and it deserves recognition because those who are declined from it often question its existence. I'm kinda triggered rn. Please accept my request thingy for this to be legit. :)))))

No, please review notability guidelines. Sulfurboy (talk) 19:33, 22 September 2017 (UTC)

I disagree with a comment, Please review.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Russell_J._Boyd

The article linked above has been declined due to what is perceived as a lack of notability. I must respectfully disagree. I would argue that I have provided ample references, and two of them are published peer-reviewed secondary sources written on the life and work of Prof. Boyd.

His notability is clear given the accolades that he has received and in my latest edits I have striven to highlight those more prominently.

Additionally, I would note that several other prominent figures in the same field of science (all of whom are rightfully deserving of a page on wikipedia) have pages on wikipedia that are far less referenced than this one, such as:

I don't fully understand your question, the title should be the name of the video game (Nintendo presents: New Style Boutique 3 – Styling Star) as has been specified.

Also, each entry in this video game series has received an entry on Wikipedia (this is the fourth game in the series now), which makes it a bit strange that this entry is now supposed to not get one. If you compare the entry for this game to those of previous games, then you will see that little has changed. As the game has not been released yet, a section about the reception can only be added in the future - which may be what you are referring to with "third party coverage". If you look at the pages for previous games in this series, there's basically no third party coverage either. Please be a little bit more specific here as the same standards should be applied to all articles. So far, the page content is not very different from that of the previous game.

Nintendo presents: New Style Boutique 3 – Styling Star is a game by one of the largest video game publishers (Nintendo), whose video games typically always receive a Wikipedia entry. As soon as there is more information available about the game, that can be added. However, until then at least the basic information that is already available should be published here - instead of pretending the game does not exist.

I was mostly concerned that the title was correct. Approved. Sulfurboy (talk) 19:34, 22 September 2017 (UTC)

I recently had my contribution to Wikipedia declined. It was a translation to English of the Swedish article on the same topic (minimal pairs in Swedish distinguished by tone). I thought it could be interesting for a wider audience who does not understand Swedish, but it was declined for not having reliable sources. I had no more or no less sources than the original article, so I am quite surprised. I have seen that there are often articles in many languages on the same topic - for example, if one reads about Elvis Presley in English, it is possible to select a French or a Russian article about him by clicking the language links on the left. Do these translations need additional sources that were not used when the first article about the subject in question was written?

The only sources are to the swedish wikipedia. We cannot use wikipedia as a source. I would recommend implementing the sources that are on the swedish wikipedia. Sulfurboy (talk) 19:35, 22 September 2017 (UTC)

I disagree that the Wall Street Journal, FOX News, New York Times, and numerous other outside third-party coverage sources are "routine news coverage." These are independently generated articles about nationally recognized, in some cases groundbreaking medical procedures and humanitarian efforts performed by this doctor, not "announcements, sports, and tabloid journalism," nor "[p]lanned coverage of scheduled events ... [w]edding announcements, sports scores, crime logs" or similar items. His founding Mission: Restore alone was considered newsworthy for a feature in the Wall Street Journal. These are not mere mentions, but are significant coverage.

You noted that "All sources look to be WP:ROUTINE or aren't outside third party coverage." Given that I worked hard to find non-routine, third-party sources to establish notability (and, again, NYT, WSJ, and others seemed to be pretty top-heap to me), I respectfully ask that you look again. If you still feel those are not adequate, could you please let me know what "published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject" would be considered adequate to establish notability?

Hello, I am trying to write an article on the tactical media artist Byron Rich and the article is being returned on account of it not being verifiable, I have cited many publications and online journals in my sources section and I was hoping that I could get some help answering these following questions: 1. Which of these sources are not adequate, and why? 2. are there any sources which would be adequate if I cited them differently? am i formatting the citations correctly? I have read over the guideline articles about verifiability and I am still not sure why these sources are not being accepted as some of them come from published award documents, and from notable journals on tactical media

I would appreciate any help you could give me on getting this article right and making sure it meets the wikipedia standards, here is a link to the draft: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Byron_Rich

Thanks Dave Ambroso

The problem is that we need to see more coverage directly of the subject. Many of the sources either mention to subject only in passing or falls closer to WP:ROUTINE coverage. Also, I went ahead and fixed the formatting of the sources for you.Sulfurboy (talk) 15:48, 24 September 2017 (UTC)

Draft: Mary-Catherine Pazzano

Hello Sulfurboy,

Appreciated your quick review of my article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Mary-Catherine_Pazzano). You indicated that the references listed didn't meet the notability criteria; however, in reviewing them, they seem to check all of the boxes indicated (published, reliable, independent of the subject, significant coverage). I believe everything was carefully cited, as well. Can you give me some feedback as to how to meet the standards you've outlined? Further sources? More wider-read publications?

Thanks, Robert Rbhaas (talk) 13:50, 24 September 2017 (UTC)

We need to see more sources (just one or two) like the Record article that is first cited. The other sources are mostly WP:ROUTINE coverage. Sulfurboy (talk) 15:51, 24 September 2017 (UTC)

Dear,

I have submitted this post about the world youth forum that was announced in alexandria in july 2017, this has been published in numerous places including the state-owned (and over 100 years old) ahram newspaper, and the article was refused becuase of (notability), i'm not sure how much more notable it could be since it was published in the biggest and most reputable (and oldest in the area) newspaper in Egypt.

second, the information in the page is the actual agenda that will be discussed during the forum, many of the world leaders are already invited and many top politicians as well as famous actors and public figures, again, i'm not sure what missing (notability) is, i have read what's in your hyper link (since you won't answer those who don't read it) and still not sure what the reason is?

I'd recommend reviewing WP:REFB as already linked to see what are acceptable sources for wikipedia. Sulfurboy (talk) 00:27, 26 September 2017 (UTC)

Hello, Sulfurboy!

Thank you for your review of my draft and your instructions. I have written a post on the Articles for Creation page and provided further references for the article. I was made aware of some of these after my draft was posted. In my initial draft, I didn't cite all the mentions of the artist online, mainly because some were in Italian or Hebrew. Could you please have another look at them here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Articles_for_creation/Help_desk#Request_on_17:18:12.2C_23_September_2017_for_assistance_on_AfC_submission_by_NindriIndri Perhaps these would make you reconsider your evaluation of my draft? I would post them in the external links section and also reference at least one or two within the text itself (in relation to the Evocative Surfaces exhibition).

Please let me know what you decide.

Thank you!

TERRELL JAMES

Hello Sulfurboy, I'm back with another edit for review.

Previous edits were rejected due to,

a) NOTABILITY OF THE SUBJECT, ADDRESSED VIA,

-- a more complete listing of the numerous art institutions collecting her work, ranging from the Whitney in New York to the Portland Art Museum in Oregon;

-- a list of art world figures and critics who have been drawn to write about her work (citations both to the authors' respective profiles, and to their writing about the subject);

-- a list of art world recognitions, including having been named Texas Artist of the Year by the Art League Houston, and other honors;

-- citations of media presence solicited by various outlets in support of critical writings. For instance, the subject provided the Houston Chronicle with an extensive commentary on artist Cy Twombley upon his death, in effect acting on behalf of artists and collectors, generally, to contextualize Twombley. Subject has performed this role repeatedly, including with regard to Walter Hopps in a recent essay printed in the Brooklyn Rail.

-- A much more clear listing of the subject's extensive representation and public exhibitions.

b) INLINE CITATIONS

I have worked hard to get this right, which I hope is evident in the article.

The number of citations has increased to assure verifiable sources, and the citations have in general a much tighter connection with what they support. I will continue to work on the citations whether or not the article is approved.

Thank you for your attention.

Hi Sulferboy,

Thank you for taking the time to review the BVG Group entry. You’ve declined my stub submission on inadequate notability at this time due to WP:ROUTINE.

Please could you tell me your reasoning for this? I’ve submitted the article as a stub, which as i understand is designed for articles that need expansion with the help of the wiki community. I do appreciate that one bad entry is not an excuse to create another, but almost all company-stubs i’ve seen have been accepted with just a handful of references to their own site.

Thank you for linking me to the WP:Routine section, too. Please could you give me an example what coverage is routine? After reading WP:ROUTINE and WP:NOTROUTINE i'm not 100% what you're referring to?

Once again, thank you for taking the time to review the article. If you could provide further feedback on why it’s not acceptable as a stub, and what I need to do to improve it i’d really appreciate it. Thanks Greatbritishstyle (talk) 11:49, 26 September 2017 (UTC)

Research on Backlogs

Hi Sulfurboy,

I'm Pau Giner, a member of the Wikimedia Design team. We are interested in providing better support to some of the activities that experienced editors do. In particular, we want to understand better how backlogs work and the issues that users may find when adding the work to be done, and finding/completing this work.

We are organising a series of short interview sessions, and we consider you as an experienced editor are an ideal candidate to participate. In order to participate you can fill this form that collects the basic information for us to schedule a session and contact you back. If you know other users that may provide useful information in this area, feel free to recommend them to participate too.

The sessions will use Google Hangouts, which is a browser-based videoconference tool, but using a camera is totally optional. We use this tool since it will allow you to share your screen and show how you do your on-wiki activities in more detail. If you prefer a different format/tool, please let us know.

Thanks!

Bennington Center for the Arts

Hi Sulfurboy: I know that my article needs more 3rd party resources, but I am hoping you can clarify for me exactly what I am looking to link. Should I be looking for more reviews of the shows here currently or in the past? Thank you for your input! Hello Sulfurboy, I've made updates to the Rah Crawford Wikipedia draft, I believe they have been saved correctly. The bio on the art history archive http://www.arthistoryarchive.com/arthistory/popart/Rah-Crawford.html was written by the same editor as the Wikipedia page. However, I did make updates so it does not look like it was taken word for word from another site.

Updates were made in the: 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 11th, 13th, 14th Paragraph

Thank you! Michelle

Draft:The Big Lez Show

If a page is protected and you intend to accept, you should place the draft under review, ask an admin to unprotect, and then accept it. There is zero point in declining a draft simply because it's protected. If the draft is going to be declined anyway, well, then use the actual decline reason. I know this decline was a monthish ago, but it's been resubmitted and came across my radar. Primefac (talk) 14:34, 1 October 2017 (UTC)

That's what I've started to do now, and as can be seen I wasn't doing it that way a month ago. Thank you for pointing it out though. Sulfurboy (talk) 14:51, 1 October 2017 (UTC)
Cool cool. I know a lot can change in a month (and I've told someone the same thing twice before!) but I thought I'd mention it. Carry on the good work~ Primefac (talk) 14:54, 1 October 2017 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:Clan MacAlpine

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:Clan MacAlpine requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from macalpineclan.com/pdf/Clan_MacAlpine_Family_Encyclopaedia.pdf. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
