Withdrawl of candidacy
It is really rather disheartening to hear that the man who has kept the Novels project going for several years wishes to retire from that post. I do have one question for you, though. If the other elected coordinators were to grant you an "emeritus coordinator" position, giving you the same basic recognition if not the same level of required activity, would you be willing to accept that role? There is an extant precedent with Kirill Lokshin recently being given the same title by the Military history project. The two years of experience you have had with the subject make you probably the single most informed person on wikipedia's content related to this subject, and I think it is a very bad idea for any project to lose such "experts". We even have a separate page relating to the subject, Wikipedia:Expert retention. I have no doubt that the members of the novels project would be more than willing to accomodate you should you wish to continue at any level of activity. John Carter (talk) 20:05, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Help with the Raymond E. Feist

Murder in the Cassava Patch
Kevin - I've added an Infobox to Murder in the Cassava Patch and quite a comprehensive plot summary. I can probably upload some cover artwork for it, at some point, too. Have a look at it, when you've a minute, to see if you agree that the stub template needs updating now.

Script error?
I think you might be using a broken script to add categories and WikiProject banners to articles. I had to change the WikiProject banner and remove the categories from Mounseer Nongtongpaw because your script had labeled it a novel when it is a poem. Just a heads up. ISBN
Hi Kevin, I put up Paul Auster's Leviathan (1992 novel) today. Am unsure what happens with ISBNs when you have ISBN10 ... and ISBN13... I put the first in the infobox. What is the difference, please? Btw, re your retirement I hope this means you will be happy with the change. I guess it's also about taking a break from so much to do. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:ABGuthrie TheWayWest.jpg}
Thank you for uploading Image:ABGuthrie TheWayWest.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. New Project
Myself and several other editors have been compiling a list of very active editors who would likely be available to help new editors in the event they have questions or concerns. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.
If you consider yourself a very active Wikipedian who is willing to help newcomers, please either complete your information in the table or add your entry. If you do not want to be on the list, either remove your name or just disregard this message and your entry will be removed within 48 hours. Robert Holdstock and Ryhope Series Novels
I have noticed some time back that you were interested in seeing the quality of the Robert Holdstock novel pages (specifically Lavondyss) being improved, but just did not have time. I have been working on revising and writing these novel pages within the Wikipedia guidelines over the past six months or so. I thought you might be interested in checking them out. Anthologies minitagging
Hey there Kevin! Wonder if you'd be interested in a little anthologies-Novels-series related project. To wit, since the 1632 series anthologies are using the same formatting (or will once I get back through them again), I was wondering whether doing a mini {{Infobox short story}} customized for the links to 1632 writers (See the workings of {{16writ}}, et. al.) would have any benefits to your mind, and if so, would you care to write one up? Don't see that most fields in that template really have utility in a list article compendium as for example Grantville Gazette III. Do you? Seems great if and only if the article is dedicated to the single short story.

OTOH, I can see some merit in a formulaic template to handle canonical needs like setting, timeline, characters, and so forth. (GG03 is good 'type article' demonstrating the way things are working out... albeit, an unfinished and unpolished draft state. Many of those synopses need more work, particularly in giving them uniformity in the aforementioned parameters, style and so forth, and I include in that justification and adjustment across articles (using the best approach, natch!). [My wiki time is in dribs and drabs, alas! And I don't always start back where I left off, which is perhaps worse!]). In any event, I'd appreciate your input and any suggestions you might have given that example. (As of last month, there were over 1500 stories languishing on the forum 1632 Slushpile, most of which weren't gonna see publication. At 12-15 per issue (ebook) that's more than enough for eight years of the Gazettes! Per editor Goodlett by email, most likely only those submitted during the last six &months would likely make the cuts for the issue construction going forward from any epoch time one cares to choose—excepting any developmental tie-in with main series writing... which might revive a story. A large number of such were recently released as Ring of Fire II, and a third of those is planned for next year with a cut off date of next January) // FrankB 03:59, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
