Matias Ramon Mella province edit
A supposely division of Santo Domingo Province want to be Matías Ramón Mella Province. This province do NOT exist. Even with congressional aproval, the president returned the project. I am answering here the request. I will try to help but it is a very hard task because the idea of the "new province" has been well developed and it appears in many places. The same editor is changing the name of towns; at least, he changed San Cristóbal to Benemérita de San Cristóbal (is it a joke?) and the same with other towns. Oscar si me habló de la provincia Mella y el mapa, pero yo no sabía que la situación es peor aún. Le dedicaré más tiempo a ese asunto, entonces.
Pero no se preocupe por Gabriel. Parece que ha cambiado. Y si nó, pues demostraremos los hechos a los administradores y que se haga lo necesario para que el no sea un obstáculo a la labor de los demás. De nuevo, el me ha alertado sobre ciertos problemas en el artículo.

He estado examinando algunos foros para ver dónde reportarlo; No estoy acostumbrado a usarlos. (Hace unas horas lo reporté en le foro equivocado. Pero un error fortuito de un robot ¡eliminó el reporte!) Me parece que ha de ser Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents. Opiné ahí en una discusión hace un par de meses.

Sí, por unos días el/ella no ha usado el nombre de MRDU08. En la lista de provincias usó el casi idéntico MRDU09.
Aunque prefiero que sea usted quien haga los cambios, buscaré ayudarle.
Con artículos de menor prioridad, muchas veces (si no siempre) lo mejor sería revertir a la version pre-MRDU08 sin reparar, ¿no cree? El/ella no dió fuentes, y dejó patente su manía por inventarse cosas. Así que es mejor simplemente revertir en masa que tratar de verificar, pienso yo.

Buena idea lo de unificar el nombre; yo hice lo mismo hace unos meses. ¿Cómo quiere que le llame de ahora en adelante?
Ah sí, existe el artículo "White Latin American" para latinoaméricanos que son blancos. Además existe "White Hispanic and Latino Americans" para los de este linaje que viven en Estados Unidos.
Sobre la "batalla" de hoy, le digo que al contrario, todos sus cambios (excepto en Sánchez Ramírez y Samaná) se han mantenido hasta este momento, inclusive en Template:Infobox Province Dominican Republic. Desde hoy tengo en mi lista de seguimiento todos los artículos sobre las provincias, de manera que veré cualquier cambio que haga allí MRDU08/MRDU09.
Usted sólo le puso una plantilla pidiendo referencias a la lista de banderas ([3]). ¿No quiere borrarlas todavía?

Hace unos días, me dí un vistazo por su página en la Wiki española y sus contribuciones allí, y ví el artículo sobre Eugenio de Jesús Marcano Fondeur. Por el apellido, el año en que nació, y el hecho de que uno de sus hijos se llama José, pensé que el era su padre. Que en paz descanse.

Etimologías edit
Tal vez, aparte de los artículos sobre provincias particulares, el otro lugar para esa información sería Provinces of the Dominican Republic. Pero no me opongo en principio a la idea de un artículo sobre las etimologías de los nombres provinciales – la información me pareció muy interesante. Por otro lado, estoy de acuerdo que el nombre del artículo está mal.
En lo que se refiere a la veracidad de las etimologías, lo mejor es pelear fuego con fuego. MRDU08 amerita un poco de reconocimiento por al menos haberse dignado en proveer referencias esta vez (aunque sólo visité una, [4]). Bien por el/-la (por fin: ¿MRDU08 es hombre o mujer?). Con "fuego" me refiero a dar referencias que corrijan las de el/ella, o por el momento, agregar plantillas retando la veracidad.
Si quiere, Pepe, averigüe también con Oscar y Juliaaltagracia, una usuaria que ha estado activa recientemente en artículos sobre R.D. SamEV (talk) 03:00, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
Trataré de verlo a su manera. Pero pienso que aún si todas la provincias tuvieran nombres derivados de los de sus capitales, no creo que está mal poner esa información en un mismo lugar, por que ayuda más al lector; es más eficiente. Imagínese si fuera usted tratando de averiguar las etimologías de los 50 estados de E.U.A.: ¿qué le parecería encontrarse con que tiene que visitar 50 páginas?

Gracias por tu aporte. Luego de escribirte este mensaje hice una búsqueda más exhautiva y encontré que el Diccionario Laoursse lo escribe separado.
Con relación al Sr. MRDU08, es un trabajador incansable y que hace muchos aportes que creo que con un poco de intercambio en su página de discusión, se puede llegar a un entendimiento.

Una pregunta: ¿Usted no cree que un mapa etiquetado – ya sea este nuevo u otro – es una buena idea?

Lo de la conección es un factor importante. En cuanto al error en Template:Dominican Republic Labelled Map, creo que usted se refiere a esto: "There are far too many labelled image templates with widths and scales of -1 or are inconsistent. Please don't do that. Keep both widths and scales greater than zero and exactly the same in each template. For example, if width is 300, then all the scales must also be 300. Thanks." Pero eso es un aviso general acerca del uso correcto de uno de los parámetros, relacionado a la escala. En Category:Labelled image map templates, los cinco mapas que chequée también tenian ese mensaje: Template:Fußball-Bundesliga (women) teams 2007/08 Labelled Map, Template:Asia Labelled Map, Template:Ireland Labelled Map, Template:Dutch architecture, y Template:List LDS Temple Brazil Map.
Oiga, ¡lo que sucedió en la Wikiesp fue tremendo, entonces! Felizmente no hay comparación con lo que está pasando aquí.
Y por supuesto, cuando se decida por fin si aceptamos el mapa, se deben a la vez hacerse los cambios que usted mencionó.
Bueno, aquí van estas opciones, dígame su preferencia por favor: Usar el mapa etiquetado en Dominican Republic y en Provinces of the Dominican Republic, etc, o exentar Dominican Republic.

Es cierto que MRDU08 hizo el trabajo a medias. Pero como yo estaba dispuesto a hacer las modificaciones a los artículos donde se usara el mapa, y como ni estaba decidido si usaríamos el mapa o no, no se lo mencioné. Solo le pedí se hiciera ciertas modificaciónes y comenzé la conversación sobre si usar o no el mapa.
Voy a esperar unos dias más antes de poner el mapa en los artículos, debido a que quiero hacerle unas modificaciones y probar una alternativa.
Hace un año quise reducir el tamaño al artículo principal. Pero por varias razones, incluyendo mi habitual 'vacación' veraniega, no lo hice. Tal vez ahora si podré, porque este verano seguiré editando, espero.
Los demás artículos quiero mejorarlos este año, como le dije recientemente; pero en la segunda mitad del año, o sea desde junio.
El artículo sobre el país atrae más atención, buena y mala, porque es el artículo más importante de todos los artículos relacionados con D.R., y por lo tanto el más visto.

- Me llama mucho la atención tanta paciencia y contemplaciones con este usuario, a mi me bloquearon porque revertí varias veces una página que no tiene ningun sentido de existir Santiago de los Trienta Caballeros diszque ese es un error común y que repetitivamente se hace. Todo un disparate. Sin embargo aunque tengo que reconocer que MRDU08 hace muchos "dibujitos" es más lo malo que lo bueno que aporta, porque ustedes dos Jmarcano y SamEV, se la tienen que pasar patrullando y espiándolo para revertir sus disparates. - No voy a reportarlo. Wikipedia tiene muchas reglas, pero no se aplican. Se parece mucho a República Dominicana.
Por otro lado y tratando el tema de otras páginas, aquí hay páginas de personas que no merecen tenerlas, pero aparecen unos cuantos y dan unos buenos argumentos y las mantienen. Otrás pasan inadvertidas o tienen tan poco importancia que las dejan.

- El caso del artículo de Susan Boyle ilustra una práctica que parece ser común: someter nuevos artículos al proceso de borrado automáticamente, para que allí lo determine un grupo más amplio si se deben mantener. Las referencias que estás poniendo vuelve atrás hacia Wikipedia y otras no tienen indicaciones de formalidad; si es así, cualquiera puede poner cualquier número. Unos valores estimados apropiados son las evaluaciones hechas por Pro-Familia pero siempre debes poner la referencia. Y, por qué escribes tan mal? Cuál es tu idioma nativo: español o inglés? También he visto que has subido unas fotos que dan la impresión que son tomadas de un website ya que no dices que las tomaste tu mismo; lo más probable es que las borren y podrían bloquearte. Y, por favor, ten más cuidado! En Samaná pusiste una fotografía de los puentes Duarte y Juan Bosch de Santo Domingo

Hi, José! Actually, I have not changed the name of the article; it's been at Santiago de los Caballeros since 2008, where it was moved from Santiago Province (Dominican Republic) by copy-paste (instead of a proper move). All I did was to merge both articles, and left the end result at "Santiago de los Caballeros", because that's where it's been for the past year or so.
If you believe that title is incorrect, please feel free to be bold and move it to a proper location or, if you are uncomfortable doing it, you can list it at WP:RM instead.
