hi,

Thanks for your message. I am liking it and will stay back. Currently developing a page on Usha Thorat. The content is based on Press Release - which is public domain. Will develop it over next few days as I hone my skills on editing shailendra 03:54, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

Task of the month

Hi Gilo!

Last month you did a great job in cleaning up the lateral internal sphincterotomy article, and although probably not quite your area, was wondering if you could help me with Bartholin's cyst. The page really needs a clean-up and I don't know where to start. I hope you're doing well and I wish you all the best for 2010. PS: Never got an e-mail from you! :-( Jared Preston (talk) 15:35, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Hit Parade Hall Of Fame

Hi Gilo Why did you put the hit parade article up for deletion. The Hit Parade is a famous hall of fame. The article that i wrote is about the same lenght as many other articles regarding walks and halls of fame. it also had the link dirctly to their website. Looking forward to your response.2012thefilm (talk) 07:39, 15 May 2010 (UTC)

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 01:37, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

Recent review

With your review you did (which looks like a rollback) here, could you explain how you did it? It shows as "automatically accepted" but I think we just hit a bug that I'm trying to file. I tried to do the same edit as you and checked "review changes" to get my version accepted. Looks like you did the same, but yours showed as "automatically accepted" and it showed me as accepting the review of the IP. This looks like a bug in the edit conflict management. Could you please let me know if you had checked the "accept pending changes" box when you did this, or how you ended up doing it? Thanks, Shirik (Questions or Comments?) 15:30, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

I came upon this on the pending changes page, clicked on review to get the diff. Once I had checked the Batman 3 pages, I clicked on Undo on the diff. The usual undid revision... message did not appear in the edit summary box; I put the text in as the complete edit summary rather than at the end of the undo summary. I did not get any indication of an edit conflict, other than the unusual lack of an automatic undo edit summary. I hope this helps with your bug search, but let me know if there is any further info you need. Regards, GILO   ACCIDENT & EMERGENCY 15:37, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
Well there were two edits to undo, but that explains a lot about why it was "automatically accepted" instead of "reviewed by self". I think I got the details now, thanks. --Shirik (Questions or Comments?) 15:42, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

I wasn't sure how to work with User boxes. Thanks for moving but someone may have deleted it(?). Your help with my future user boxes would be greatly and warmly recieved! Thnks!!!! Dockofusa (talk) 18:29, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

CSD tags

Hey, thanks for your efforts, just a couple of quick points, then I'll let you on your way! If the entire content of the page is "'.'", then {{db-test}} (G2) might be a better option than db-nocontext. It's associated author notification template is also more friendly. The other thing is that if the article is contextless but doesn't meet any other criterion, it's sometimes better to wait for a few hours to see what the author does with it rather than risking biting a newcomer. Keep up the good work. Best, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 01:43, 25 July 2010 (UTC)

Speedy deletion declined: Starman (band)

Hello Gilo1969. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Starman (band), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Having a band member with their own article is generally enough to get through A7. Take to AfD if required. . Thank you. GedUK  17:56, 10 August 2010 (UTC)

Paul Segond

Hello, Gilo.

Cordialement. --Thierry (talk) 00:48, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

Many thanks - article now corrected. I will look into further articles on French surgeons and physicians, although with that many it may take some time... GILO   ACCIDENT & EMERGENCY 18:16, 30 September 2010 (UTC)

Frédéric Chaslin

Thanks for your comments to Fredchaslin about his editing of the Frédéric Chaslin wikipedia page. I also wrote on Fiftytwo thirty's talk page on this. I'm sure you immediately surmised that Fredchaslin is Frédéric Chaslin himself. I anticipate edit wars on this, so I might need your help later on it. Altered speedy deletion rationale: A B Rajib Hazarika

Hello Gilo1969. I am just letting you know that I deleted A B Rajib Hazarika, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided, which doesn't fit the page in question. Thank you. GedUK  18:46, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

Vincent Sunderland

Hi, I am the creator of the new Vince Sunderland page that you have tagged for speedy deletion. I understand why (because there in no citations or any proof at the moment), I am working on putting it in but I am new to doing citations, I will put them in as soon as I can, but until then can you PLEASE try not to have that page deleted. Vince Sunderland was a very notable man around Greater Moncton and is looked up to by thousands. Please, just give me a few days to put proof in, I'm working on putting it in as I write this.

I hope you understand.

Thank you. —Preceding unsigned comment added by BrandonsLe (talkcontribs) 01:09, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

Milad Omranloo

Hello, I'm just here to inform you that Milad Omranloo is now sourced and the BLPprod has been removed. If you still question the notability of the article feel free to use the traditional prod method or send it to AfD. —J04n(talk page) 10:45, 16 November 2010 (UTC)

Contested Judgement of Taekwondo of Asian Games 2010

I noted you tagged Contested Judgement of Taekwondo of Asian Games 2010. I did not start the page, but am working on it from English language news sources, though will resort to the Chinese language page and Chinese language news sources of needed for greater detail. It is still in progress, but could you take a look and give it your input. Thanks. ludahai 魯大海 (talk) 10:24, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

Blind (film)

Hi. You've informed me about speedy nomination of this article. I just created it, give me a few minutes I'm working on it atm. Userpd (talk) 21:24, 25 November 2010 (UTC)

Why didn't you delete your template for deletion from this article? After I (herein) left a note to you that I'm working on it? Where's a rush to delete when it was clear (after I left a note) I will manage to bring it to a state of minimal requirement. And some random admin who wouldn't be aware of me working on it would delete it and I wouldn't have to explain him that I was working on it by the time he had deleted it. It's your fault that you didn't remove the template, thus you could prevent the article from being removed and I wouldn't have to recreate it. Userpd (talk) 00:28, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

I received your message, I take it, you didn't see my note that I left here, so it somehow knocks your guilt of not preventing the deletion of the article as it was just a casual casus. Nevermind, though. Userpd (talk) 01:08, 26 November 2010 (UTC)

Salem (UK band)

I refer to your edits to Salem (UK band). Re coi, I have checked all info and believe it is all correct. There are several references included in the entry that agree with the information provided. Also a comment has been added that confirms that all the details are accurate and impartial.

Re deletion of link to Salem In The Beginning, I can't tell if this was done by you? Again, this entry is correct and verifiable with reference to the two record companies. Please can this be reinstated?

Thanks

Hi. Please review the comments above re coi. Can you remove the coi, please?

Thanks

Speedy deletion nomination of Dakon band

Hello Gilo1969

I don't know if writing here is right or not... I hope it is. I'm new to Wikipedia, first article and must admit I find it difficult to understand how everything works. 3 days ago I was working on a short article about a band. However when I entered today to edit it further I saw the deletion tag and now here I am. I worked at that article till late at night gathering online resources and completing them and I did read the first article tutorial/help page. It is not finished, I read the conditions of a such an article, the band is of great success and importance in the country where it comes from, that being Moldova, proven by facts. Can you please recover it so that I can edit it further and make it right in the end on Wiki ?! Thanks!

Dakon (talk) 23:03, 6 December 2010 (UTC)

I cannot recover the article for you, but you might want to try one of these admins who can do so. I would suggest that the best way for you to develop this article would be to set up a user subpage, such as User:Dakon/Dakon (band), then move the page to the article space once it is ready. I would also draw your attention to this and this as your name suggests that you have a connection with the subject of your article; if this is the case, it would be better for someone else to write the article. In terms of avoiding the deletion problem in the future, have a look at this for help with determining notability. Best of luck, GILO   ACCIDENT & EMERGENCY 18:46, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

London Wikimedia Fundraiser

Good evening! This is a friendly message from Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry, inviting you to the London Wikimedia Fundraising party on 19th December 2010, in approximately one week. This party is being held at an artistic London venue with room for approximately 300 people, and is being funded by Ed Saperia, a non-Wikipedian who has a reputation for holding exclusive events all over London. This year, he wants to help Wikipedia, and is subsidising a charity event for us. We're keen to get as many Wikimedians coming as possible, and we already have approximately 200 guests, including members of the press, and some mystery guests! More details can be found at http://ten.wikipedia.org/wiki/London - expect an Eigenharp, a mulled wine hot tub, a free hog roast, a haybale amphitheatre and more. If you're interested in coming - and we'd love to have you - please go to the ten.wikipedia page and follow the link to the Facebook event. Signing up on Facebook will add you to the party guestlist. Entry fee is a heavily subsidised £5 and entry is restricted to over 18s. It promises to be a 10th birthday party to remember! If you have any questions, please email me at chasemewiki at gmail.com.

Hope we'll see you there, (and apologies for the talk page spam) - Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (talk) 22:54, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Excitement (emotion)

The article Excitement (emotion) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This unsourced article does not seem to be able to be made into a full article, and is already coverered by anticipation.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sorry for the template, and I removed your speedy deletion tag as well. The context is there, but it can still be deleted. Bearian (talk) 17:07, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Rehman Medical College

Hi. Looks like there was an edit conflict - we appear to have been tagging at the same time for much the same things. Quite honestly I'm inclined to PROD it because it has not even started working yet and cannot possibly have accumulated any notability whatsoever. --Kudpung (talk) 03:02, 30 December 2010 (UTC)

I would tend to agree - I err on the side of caution in medical articles, but I was close to a PROD. Given that the college has not opened yet, it cannot have gained notability, as you say. I also wonder whether the page is there for advertising purposes. GILO   ACCIDENT & EMERGENCY 03:06, 30 December 2010 (UTC)

Robert Jones (surgeon) at DYK

Nice article and a good hook; it just needs the addition of a few refs (which I think are already in the article). I found that Ref 8 leads to a blank page (perhaps it has limited access), but I found the full text available here. Do you think this might be a better one to use?--Peter I. Vardy (talk) 15:14, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for coming back to me. You are right, the PMC url is a much better idea for the main url; I have changed it accordingly. Please let me know if there are any other references required; as I mentioned in the initial edit summary, this is still a work in progress, but I thought I'd put what I had on wiki as it has taken me far too long already. Best wishes, GILO   ACCIDENT & EMERGENCY 15:34, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
Yes, I have asked on the DYK Suggestions page for more references. Once these are done, I shall be pleased to approve it for DYK. Cheers.--Peter I. Vardy (talk) 17:02, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
Done - the reference for the mechanism of inury in the Jones fracture is very detailed; the reference for Jones's WWI activities is not so good, but the best account of this (from the Welsh Orthopaedic Society) seems now to be a dead link. Please let me know if any further detail is needed. Regards, GILO   ACCIDENT & EMERGENCY 18:31, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
Sorry to seem pedantic, but we do need a reference after the sentence containing the hook — the second sentence in the last section. It seems petty, but that's the "rule".--Peter I. Vardy (talk) 18:43, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
No problem, it is mentioned in the About.com reference provided, but the best reference for this is the original paper. If the About.com reference is not good enough, could the original paper reference be moved to the end of the "hook" sentence? GILO   ACCIDENT & EMERGENCY 18:48, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
Yes, that would be the best. Happy New Year.--Peter I. Vardy (talk) 19:24, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
Done. Many thanks, and a Happy New Year to you too. GILO   ACCIDENT & EMERGENCY 19:49, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
