Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/KRSTIGER

Hi Chaser. No problems, nothing bad done; however, it might have been better to allow KRSTIGER a chance to withdraw the nomination as suggested by several people. When the community are offering somebody the opportunity to display common sense by withdrawing it can be perceived as unhelpful and contradictory when the opportunity is quickly removed. Tyrol redirects

Hi Chaser, there is no need for any dispute - I live in Tyrol since my birth and never in over 30 years I have seen the ö use with the local names - it is a hoax; as much as writing Ünited Stätes of Ämericä would be a hoax! but- actually I don't care. --noclador (talk) 13:48, 28 March 2010 (UTC)

CloudeOne

Just wanted to let you know I concur with you're declining the Speedy Deletion on this article. Saw a genuine effort on the author's part and I'd have removed it myself if you hadn't beaten me to it. Cheers. Bagheera (talk) 23:50, 2 April 2010 (UTC)

User:Omshakthi551

Hi Chaser, I do not know why you deleted my content from Omshakthi551 as there was no infringement and the author has complete permission. this is ridiculous. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Omshakthi551 (talkcontribs) 14:24, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

Do you want to contribute to some articles around here? No one is going to bother with archiving copyright permission for something you want on your userpage--not worth the time.--Chaser (talk) 15:28, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

Jargon_of_The_Rush_Limbaugh_Show . . . (speedy deletion, by you).

Dear Chaser, I concur with the speedy deletion and will have the easy-to-write Article ready soon. Charles Edwin Shipp (talk) 15:59, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

User:Autismconversations/

Re your speedy decline, I moved the original contents to User:Autismconversations/Draft article and left a link to the new title on the user page, so there is no need for the malformed User:Autismconversations/ to remain a redirect, IMHO. – ukexpat (talk) 02:45, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

People have discretion in their own userspace. If Autismconversations wants it deleted, I'll delete it. Otherwise, I'm leaving it alone.--Chaser (talk) 02:47, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

Bid4abook Entry

I am confused as to why or how you determined the entry on Bid4abook was promotional or advertising. I provided objective or factual information about the business, and I used the framework of the entries for three similar businesses when typing up this entry. Please reconsider your decision; if you want to refer to the three entries that I mention above, then I will certainly provide you with their names.

Regards,

--Spalter2 (talk) 15:03, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Its tone wasn't bad, but the information was presented as you might expect the website itself to present it, as a how-to guide for customers, rather than the way you'd expect an encyclopedia to describe it, as general information for everyone. In any case, is this website really notable? If not, it won't survive long in any form. Please do let me know about the other articles.--Chaser (talk) 20:21, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
How would you recommend changing the content so it is more encyclopedic - I have read the tutorials etc. and have not found anything to assist me improve what I have written. As for notable, the website has been functioning since 1995, and there have been some articles written about it (one in particular positioned this website as David and eBay as Goliath). The other websites that I looked at include: abebooks.com, alibris.com, biblio.com and of course eBay.com. There are currently Wikipedia entries for all of these four website businesses and Bid4abook belongs in the group with these.--Spalter2 (talk) 00:22, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
Can you provide links or citations to any of the articles written about this site? Alternatively, do you know in what publication they appeared?--Chaser (talk) 03:55, 9 April 2010 (UTC)
http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2008/may/01/vic.keegan Category:Book websites Spalter2 (talk) 19:10, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
That barely mentions the site. You're going to need to provide more significant coverage to establish the site's notability under either the guideline for websites or the guideline for companies, preferably the latter. You've done everything right, I just haven't seen enough news coverage yet to justify an article.--Chaser (talk) 20:30, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
I have just deleted BiblioWorks and Biblio.com for the same reason.--Chaser (talk) 20:52, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Re:RFA

Hello, you closed my RfA (Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Raaggio) after only 5 hours. I do not believe WP:SNOW qualifies here, because I believe I have enough experience to be considered for adminship. Per Wikipedia:NOTNOW#What to do if your RfA was closed early, if I do not accept the early closure, I am supposed to inform the editor who closed my RFA so the editor can reverse his or her actions and let my candidacy run the full course of 7 days. Thanks in advance, RaaGgio (talk) 05:36, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

It's up to you. I re-opened it, but I wouldn't be surprised if a bureaucrat decides to close it early.--Chaser (talk) 06:33, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
There's no way this goes well for the nominee, but I'm of the opinion that we should let the nominee choose the endpoint, especially within the first 24 hours. Shadowjams (talk) 08:20, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

ITN rewording

You do realize the WP:ERRORS report you mentioned when changing the plane crash blurb was not in reference to a blurb remotely similar to the original blurb, right? (Just making sure...) -- tariqabjotu 01:50, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

It was a dramatic change? Yes, I realize that.--Chaser (talk) 01:54, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Please undelete Ashlyne Huff -

She is an established singer - daughter of Dan Huff and signed with Liquid Digital Media - Wal-Marts record label, we were working adding more info about her as an artist and her inclusion on NOW 33, upcoming album and tour with Honor Society.

I have restored the article. I cannot see how she meets Wikipedia's notability guideline for musicians. Without meeting that, the article is likely to be deleted.--Chaser (talk) 20:16, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Perhaps protect other SCOTUS candidates

Hi Chaser,

I am not sure what the protocol is for this sort of thing. But as Supreme Court speculation increases, it seems that people with particular interests are intent on altering pages of potential candidates.

Can you protect the pages for Judges Garland and Wood as well. I have noticed that many of the case descriptions on Diane Wood's page have been deleted repeatedly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by JD3000 (talkcontribs) 18:45, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

Not done I don't see any recent vandalism on Merrick Garland or Diane Wood. Keep in mind that content disputes with another editor are not vandalism. Thanks.--Chaser (talk) 19:05, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

Glenn Miller (activist)

FYI, I intend to Nominate the above referenced article for Deletion, based on the existence of the following article: Frazier Glenn Miller Jr.

With all due respect, I believe that under the circumstances, you will agree that is a sensible course of action. KevinOKeeffe (talk) 09:44, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

United States Reports, volume 1

You going to move them all? I have all of them watchlisted; I might remove them temporarily. ;-) --MZMcBride (talk) 16:48, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

No. I just thought the first one was misleading.--Chaser (talk) 16:49, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
Hmm. Having just one at a different title seems kind of weird. --MZMcBride (talk) 17:10, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
Any other ideas? I think we came up with better titles than the US Reporter did for volumes 2-559, but volume one is a strange case.--Chaser (talk) 17:12, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
I'm not sure it would be wrong to move them all to "United States Reports, volume X." Or at least have a redirect. Though when I was creating these pages, I think I skipped volumes 1–4, as they were all strange. Not sure if they're equally strange or not, though. --MZMcBride (talk) 17:20, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
Volumes 2-4 contain some SCOTUS decisions and some from other courts. Volume one pre-dates the creation of the Court. It's called volume one because Dallas reported volumes one-four. I think re-titling volumes 2-4 makes sense, too, as they are mostly decisions from other courts.--Chaser (talk) 17:24, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

Attention please

In this edit refactoring a talk page discussion you accidentally destroy the coherence of my post which was depending on the headline which you changed/removed. Could you sort this out, please? __meco (talk) 07:29, 30 April 2010 (UTC)

Re:Edit notice

I wasn't sure about the policies/guidelines governing there use for the article, so I opted for a hidden message. As a practical matter, as long as the editors are informed of the requests either format is fine by me. TomStar81 (Talk) 20:23, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

I just closed the AFD and deleted the article about you. Let me know if you want the contents userfied or emailed.--Chaser (talk) 01:09, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

I believe you may have been misled

I only wish good tidings on 'Hohenloh', indeed, I offer him my friendship and co-operation. Please stay out of what is essentially a personal matter. Thank you. 86.40.207.29 (talk) 09:11, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

Is this about a specific article? Or do you just enjoy bothering people?--Chaser (talk) 14:06, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
Now that is uncalled for and violates WP:NPA, not to mention the assumption of good faith. I was referring to your intervention in a private matter between me and Hohenloh, who has stalked me repeatedly over several articles, refuses to discuss his reversions, reverts any comment I ever make on his talk page, and generally refuses to interact with me while he continues to plough ahead on article content pages, ignoring and positively holding all dissent in utter contempt. This issue is much more complex than you give it credit for, and your partisan intervention on behalf of the party guilty of aggresiveness and blatant slanderisation is not the actions of a fair minded or honourable gentleman. I kindly ask you to revoke your comment, as it brings disrepute onto my reputation. 86.40.207.29 (talk) 16:35, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
So which article?--Chaser (talk) 17:17, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
I am referring to your intervention on Hohenloh's talk page. And you still have not apologised for - Or do you just enjoy bothering people? 86.40.207.29 (talk) 18:43, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
I see you have still not apologised for your insulting outburst. I still cannot understand why so many insist on treating me so abominably. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.45.199.106 (talk) 23:58, 13 May 2010 (UTC)

A question.

Hello, Thank you for unblocking me. I want to ask an informative question about my block, an advice. I don`t want to create the wrong impression , i am grateful for everything and i am conscious that i made a mistake in my attitude and the way i approached the problem, but this is strange too. I just reviewed my block and 3RR rule again , i was reverting vandalism and 3RR don`t apply then , like i reported it here. I just counted my reverts and the one i got banned for were vandalism, there is even a message from that user in report [1] asking for "help" (pointing to an earlier problem with not applying the WP:PLACE [2] and [3]) saying that he wants to provoke me into breaking the 3RR by making some changes (vandalism). Changes he made were clearly a provocation(he specially edited that article then on clear matters, before he wasn`t editing this article) since the sources say "Romanian" not "Wallachian" which looks like is a part of a "plan" from the message he wrote to the other user. There was also a earlier attempt to block me which resulted in no violation. Can i do something about it? If the problem exists where can address it to? Thank you in advance.iadrian (talk) 10:19, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

None of the edits you're talking about are vandalism. See Wikipedia:Vandalism#What_is_not_vandalism.--Chaser (talk) 16:10, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

BLP Noticeboard

I made a comment on the Bill Moyers BLP/N thing. There's not an argument over the article content. It's the deleting of an editor's comments by another editor that's the issue. Thanks.Malke2010 23:58, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

First Aid Kit (band)

Hi - it seems you deleted a stub about the Swedish band First Aid Kit. I think they are well known enough to merit an entry. Their initial fame came because of a cover song they did http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMrqBldlqzA now with over 1.3 million views. They are a signed band with released recordings and are presently touring North America. Here are a few published sources discussing them from a quick Internet search I did. http://www.spinner.ca/2009/09/18/band-of-the-week-first-aid-kit/

I deleted it because it was a copyvio. See the log. BD2412 deleted it because it did not assert notability. Read the guideline on notability, check your sources against it, and re-create it only if it meets the guideline.--Chaser (talk) 23:38, 18 May 2010 (UTC)

Richard Norton

Hi. I have a small problem – he's still at it – please can something be done about this? I really cannot continue on Wikipedia if he is going to be badmouthing me like that at every opening. ╟─TreasuryTagbelonger─╢ 07:52, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

And on Commons as well. This is absurd. ╟─TreasuryTagpresiding officer─╢ 08:09, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
You're best off disengaging entirely and ignoring him. Assuming you're right about the deletions (I haven't looked into it), it's clear there's bad blood between you. So let a neutral third party handle the deletions and find another corner of the wiki in which the work.--Chaser (talk) 22:21, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Burma Star Association

Some years ago, you deleted (or prompted the action) the article on the Burma Star Association. The summary says "copyright violation of http://www.burmastar.org.uk/history.htm". Was there a reason to delete the article, not just the offending material? I ask because I propose to reinstate the article (without copyright material). The Association is a notable veterans organisation and merits an article, even if only a stub; there are redlinks to it. Folks at 137 (talk) 19:31, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

I don't know about notability. Check Wikipedia:Notability and the related notability guidelines.--Chaser (talk) 21:49, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
"Notability" can be subjective and localised, even given wiki's guidelines. As a Brit, I am aware of the Association and it's occasionally mentioned in the press; there are branches across Britain and elsewhere in the Commonwealth. But if you're not in these areas then the Association probably doesn't register - much like veteran's associations in the States, etc. I will seek a consensus on the appropriate task force, do you wish to be involved? Can I assume that you have no other reservations about the article's reinstatement? Folks at 137 (talk) 20:15, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
If you do decide to contribute to the discussion, I've kicked it off here. Folks at 137 (talk) 21:08, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
I don't care. When I said "I don't know", I meant I haven't looked into it.--Chaser (talk) 22:20, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
