Yes, it was a page 2 kronikk by Hermann Hansen. As far as I can see from the article, it is just a synthesis of what happened between 1979 and 1990; the author choses not to make any real opinions in the matter. Chances are, given the 2005 date, he has just taken the highlights from Kjenstad's book. Of course, if he is a journalist, he could have taken it all from the contemporary Adresseavisen articles too. What do you mean by Prime Minister pages? Overviews on each period under a specific Prime Minister? Could I request that you please don't use the current pages as a base for expansion, as they (especially with secretaries) are too long to fit in such an overview page. GA

Is Ýdalir really a GA? With 1,212 characters (excluding block quote and the usual stuff) it would not even be accepted at DYK; some would say it's a stub. Punkmorten (talk) 11:36, 1 February 2009 (UTC)

GA was created to allow articles too short for FA to become recognized in some way. The problem with articles like Ýdalir, it that while they are notable enough to have an article, there is not much to say about them. In this case, it is mentioned in one scripture, and there are a few, but not particularly long, "theories" regarding it. There is no length demand for GA, and I am certain Bloodofox would have added more if there was more to say. If you disagree with me, you can allways challenge the GA, since anyone can degrade a GA article, or pop a note on Talk:Ýdalir. Remember, GA is neither DYK or FA. Hi Arsenikk, You how how good (rather bad) my Norwegian is can you help? We have a bit of an argument whether Gigha has a Proper Norse name and one reference states that it is "Gudey" and that it come from Håkon Håkonssons saga [[1]]. GA Review Randolph, Tennessee

First off all, thanks for your review and for fixing some of the minor issues the article had. It was interesting to get an expert opinion on the article. I will answer here instead of appending it to the review, if you don't mind. Usually, I would like to keep the discussion close to the article but as it failed the GA, this would be more to exchange some ideas with you. As you have offered it in your review, I would like to keep in touch with you for the evaluation of further developments. And if I decide to re-list it one day after improvements are done, maybe your time allows to re-review the article.

It is interesting, a few of the points you have criticized I have noticed myself and there is a reason for some of them. So on one hand it is a pitty that the article failed without a discussion but your detailed evaluation is still very helpful and I like that more time is available than with the GA on hold and all has to be done within a week.

Extensive history section: I wanted the article to be comprehensive and close to complete and to reflect the right proportions. Randolph is not only a small village in 2008, it is a small village since 1865. Since then, nothing big has happened there. The big things to say about Randolph (if you want to exclude pre-history) happened for the most part between 1800 and 1865, for the next 150 years until the present time there is relative silence. So the extent of the history section is in the right proportion, in my opinon.

Splitting History section into a separate article: I have done that many months ago with the Memphis, Tennessee article. I have considered that as well for Randolph but did not do it for a reason. As mentioned above, most of what is known about the place is history, that would not leave much for the main article. Some history facts need to be mentioned in the main article, too, if the history is split off. So to avoid redundancies of two artciles I added the few facts of present day to the vast history and have it all in one article. But, I am sort of torn back and forth here, too. If you think this really makes sense, let us exchange a few ideas before I make the bigger changes here, OK?

Indians vs. Native Americans: Wikipedia is a worldwide encyclopedia, the English version does not represent a certain cultural identity or country. It is worldwide knowledge that happens to be in the English language. In my opinion it would be of no importance to ask whether it is politically correct or not in a given country. Who determines political correctness, anyway? And why? There are two reasons why I sometimes call the inhabitants prior to European settlement Indians and sometimes Native Americans. (1) Variation of speech (2) In my opinion, political correctness produces an undue bias in the information. Honestly, "Native American" is a pretty friendly and neutral to positive term, so nice and friendly that you could almost forget that 5 million of them were killed by Europeans, their land was taken and those few who survived were transferred to reservations. The term "Indian" carries more of the beforementioned slightly negative connotations. And that is important to reflect the historical accuracy and to balance out the slightly too positive bias of nice term.

Earthquake: The settlement is in an earthquake zone and there are earthquakes every once in a while. I picked this example earthquake because it was recent and pretty close. I would like to let it stay but would not insist on it, either.

More than single sentence diversions: You mentioned that in your evaluation. I was pretty sure that I kept the diversions short enough not to disturb the context but long enough to establish context. My aim was to be as short as possible and to include all information that a casual reader might need to understand the topic without necessarily following all the links. (If you print the article, does it leave any questions open?). Would you please let me know where I was carried away too far?

History of Randolph, Tennessee

Hey, you suggested the history section split off into a separate article History of Randolph, Tennessee to cover the details that would be too much for the main article about the settlement. My question to you would be if you are of the opinion that this could be a reasonable start for the article about the history? In case you edit there, be aware that a lot of stuff is commented out at the moment that would be erased eventually, of course. I would do the detail work once it is closer to the final shape. And of course, the history section in the main article would have to be reduced. Would you mind to let me know suggestions what of the Randolph article you would skip once the History of Randolph article is in place? There is no urgency with this. Thank you very much!

First i dont really know what a GA is, just saw many other articles being GAS. And second i'll add more information to the Jagland article, but information before 2000 with the exception of the AUF scandal is HARD to find because he was only prime minister for one year and he didn't accomplish much. And har right for the labour may be right, but i can't find anything stating that, but i do agree with you. Question do you know a place where i can find sources for events before 1999?

If you don't really know what GA is, you should not be nominating for it. Good articles are those that editors feel they are "finished" with; they are complete, fully referenced, illustrated and have been once or twice copyedited since they were done. GA is not quite as hard as featured article, which is where people who have nothing better to do than find all the most quirky errors in prose, grammar, structure, formatting etc. live, and chop the article that you though was really good into pieces.

As for pre-2000 sources, the key is to use Atekst. This is a database that has a lot of printed newspapers in it, and can be searched just like a normal news search. If you are a university student, you school library might have access to it. I can connect to it at home via a VPN connection I have with NHH. The referencing of for instance Color Air (all pre-2000) is based on this method. If you do not go to university, I honestly don't know how to search pre-2000. The other thing is Government.no (http://www.regjeringen.no), that has lots of publications and press conferences from old governments. Material becomes more and more scarse as time passes, but there might still be some things. I know I have found press releases from 1996 there. Remeber: sources do not need to be in English (I somehow presume you speak Norwegian due to your eagerness in the subject).

A final tip: don't get overwhelmed by the amount of stuff left to do. We've only been working at the encyclopædia for about seven years, and there are perhaps half a dozen working on politics of Norway, most of us having it as a "second base". There is lots to do, and don't worry too much about how much is left, just enjoy breaking ground every time you complete a task. Again, thanks for your devotion to trying to fix up the mess. It is a lot closer than Jagland, anyway. However, it is in dire need of a copyedit; there are areas where the prose it a bit cumbersome, and the Manual of Style (MoS) is not followed. The MoS is the "rules" for how we write here on Wikipedia, such as when to use italics, how to format dates, and probably a thousand other things. One of the GA criteria is that the article must be in accordance with the MoS, and be faily well written, without any grammatical errors. However, the prose does not need to be briliant. To get back to point: the "Timeline" section needs to be converted into prose, and perhaps the background become a little longer. Also, the location of the Jagland image is not suitable, since he was not one of the formally accused in the matter. I would suggest a more neutral top image, and that his portrait is placed beside his testamony. I'll see if I get around to a copyedit today. Arsenikk ^(talk) 18:30, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

I will do it, but also provide a guide, so the next time you can do it yourself.

• Save the file on your hard drive, and use a logical file name, such as Rod logo.png
• Open your favorite image editor; I prefer GIMP, but if you like spending your hard-earned money supporting propriatory software, you can always use Adobe Photoshop.
• Open the image, and perform two actions; first, autocrop to remove any border of white around the image.
• This bit is a bit tricky if you have not used layers before, and can be skipped: Go to the layer window, click on the layer, and select "add alpha channel". Use the fuzzy select (looks like a magic wand on the toolbox) and select the white background. Then press the "delete" button. Do not remove the white star, since that is part of the logo, not just colored background.
• Save. All logos should be saved as .png (not .gif or .jpg). Photographs should be in .jpg, though.
• Select "upload file" form the left menu on Wikipedia.
• Press "this is a logo from an organisation"
• Brows to select the image
• Two lines need to be filled out: "Article" (the article name) and "Souce" (the URL where you found the image).
• Scoll down under "licencing" to find "logo"
• Tick "watch this page"
• Press "upload file"
• Add the image to the article

Blackstone Group

I revised the article after going through your suggestions. I would love to hear any additional comments you might have.

Also, my next task is to go back to the main Private equity article and get that in somewhat better shape. It still needs quite a bit of work but would be very happy to get any suggestions you might have. My goal with that is to try to get that to FA status which I have never done. I am a little wary that with a subject like that, FA may pose a challenge.

Adamstuen station

Hi! I was wondering when the station Adamstuen opened. Oslo byleksikon seems to say that the square/junction at Adamstuen [2] had a loop from 1909 ("Fra 1909, da trikken ble ført opp Thereses gate til trikkesløyfen ..."). Just noting that for a good topic, let's say "Oslo T-bane" as a GT, one'd probably need GA status for at least all the individual lines (maybe except Haslesvingen), as well as the already Good Oslo T-bane article (or whatever its name be), and "History of ...", which is already underway. Personally I would have made the topic as shown below. The elegance of this is (unintentionally) that two FLs will reach the 33% featured quota, thus making it possible to reach FT without creating FAs. Of course, I have no idea what the folks down at FT think of my logic. But it seems from what I see and have read, that they prefer fairly short topics, and then making subtopics; for instance, they might accept this and the make Oslo T-bane lines its own topic. In the mean time, I have Ring Line, Nydalen (station), Storo (station) and Sinsen (station) up for GA review. Perhaps these will warrent a GA. User:Bellhalla, who makes lots of GAs on ships and submarines, has gotten GTs for submarine classes (with the two individual submarines supplementing the class article). Proper nouns and station names

Hi there. You make a good point and one I have been thinking about too. I proposed a convention for German railway names, but got slammed by a couple of editors - see the talk page - who wanted to change Kirnitzsch Valley Railway to Kirnitzschtal tram (a strange half-translation of Kirnitzschtalbahn and only half a proper noun). You will see the convention proposes "station", but I can now see a logic for changing it to "Station". The only thing I am not certain about is whether this is standard English practice for station naming, but I will do some checking.

I have also started to put together a proposed naming convention for German placenames. It doesn't mention stations, but logically they would be Group C. Even if we propose that stations should be fully capitalised - e.g. Bahnhof Mellrichstadt becomes "Mellrichstadt Station" - there are other 'special cases' we need to think about:

• Where the city has a different English name, do we change e.g. München Hauptbahnhof to Munich Hauptbahnhof?
• Where it is a Hauptbahnhof, do we translate Hbf? There has been a debate and current consensus appears to be "no".
• Where ...bahnhof is part of the name, do we call it e.g. "Munich Eastern Station", "Munich Ostbahnhof", "München Ost Station" or leave it as München Ostbahnhof?
• Where it is adjectival, does e.g. Anhalter Bahnhof become "Anhalt Station"? What about Basel Badische Bahnhof? I had my wrist slapped for changing this to "Basle Baden station"!
• Where it is a U-Bahn or S-Bahn station, do we add the city name e.g. does Berduxstraße on the Munich S-Bahn become "München Berduxstrasse Station", "Berduxstrasse Station" or just "Berduxstraße" as shown on the S-Bahn map?

I am not sure. A complete chronology is available at Jernbanestatistikk 2007 (page 46), however, no NSB lines were closed until the 1950s. Many private lines were closed during the 30s, and passenger transport on NSB lines was terminated at the time too. Arsenikk ^(talk) 13:14, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

Beats me. The Østfold Lines were finished in the 1880s, and after that they didn't touch anything south of Ski until the 1990s (except electrification, but that was a bit later, with the Drammen Line being electrified around then, but that could be what they were considering). I haven't really red much about the Østfold Line, so I don't know. If you really want to know, there is a book about the Østfold Line that maybe a library close to you has. FAR on BC Rail

Omigod there's so much that needs updating and it's a huge quagmire, really; I'll explain on the FAR page but nothing could be more at-odds with current-affairs timing; the circumstances of the sale of BC Rail are a mounting scandal which is not just playing out in court and but also on the hustings in the coming week (election day May 12). I also happen to know, in a sort of insider-information kind of way from journalists/bloggers researching the case, that a whole lot more revelations are about to break.....on the one hand, good reason for the article to be featured; on the other hand a big enough swamp that it woudl be difficult to prep the article fully for an FA.... last time I looked there was a lot of POV obfuscation (similarly on CN Rail). Other than the current-affairs/scandal (see BC Legislature Raids, which likewise needs updating in the same contexts), a lot of early history/politics of teh railway is still really not well-developed enough in the article IMO. ..... so I'll save such comments/points for the FAR page, just wanted to express my - dismay - that this FAR would be coming up just now.....for further info try searching "BC Rail" at http://thetyee.ca and you'll get an idea of the scope.....Skookum1 (talk) 14:51, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

GA Sweeps invitation

Hello, I hope you are doing well. I am sending you this message since you are a member of the GA WikiProject. I would like to invite you to consider helping with the GA sweeps process. Sweeps helps to ensure that the oldest GAs still meet the criteria, and improve the quality of GAs overall. Unfortunately, last month only two articles were reviewed. This is definitely a low point after our peak at the beginning of the process when 163 articles were reviewed in September 2007. After nearly two years, the running total has just passed the 50% mark. In order to expediate the reviewing, several changes have been made to the process. A new worklist has been created, detailing which articles are left to review. All exempt and previously reviewed articles have already been removed from the list. Instead of reviewing by topic, you can consider picking and choosing whichever articles interest you.

We are always looking for new members to assist with the remaining articles, so if you are interested or know of anybody that can assist, please visit the GA sweeps page. In addition, for every member that reviews 100 articles or has a significant impact on the process, s/he will get an award when they reach that threshold. If only 14 editors achieve this feat starting now, we would be done with Sweeps! Of course, having more people reviewing less articles would be better for all involved, so please consider asking others to help out. Feel free to stop by and only review a few articles, something's better than nothing! Take a look at the list, and see what articles interest you. WP:Good articles/recent

Hey Arsenikk. I would just to apologise for and explain the disruption you may have noticed on WP:Good articles/recent. Following a bot request, it became apparent that it would be handy to have a bot pipe new additions to WP:GA onto the /recent subpage. Now, I admit that the bot's been having a few problems (it's still officially in trial), but I hope these have now been worked out. It should mean that every 5 minutes the newest additions are added automatically, so all users like you have to do is add the newly listed GA to WP:GA and let the bot do the work. Of course, you're allowed to do it yourself, but you don't have to. That's the plan, anyhow, so it might be an idea to add the article to WP:GA, then wait ten minutes. If the bot hasn't added it yet, add it manually and come straight to me so I can fix the bot. Essentially though, you can either carry on as normal or take advantage of the bot, as you wish. GA Sweeps June update

Thanks to everyone's dedicated efforts to the GA Sweeps process, a total of 396 articles were swept in May! That more than doubles our most successful month of 163 swept articles in September 2007 (and the 2 articles swept in April)! I plan to be sending out updates at the beginning of each month detailing any changes, updates, or other news until Sweeps are completed. So if you get sick of me, keep reviewing articles so we can be done (and then maybe you'll just occasionally bump into me). We are currently over 60% done with Sweeps, with just over a 1,000 articles left to review. With over 40 members, that averages out to about 24 articles per person. If each member reviews an article a day this month (or several!), we'll be completely finished. I know that may be asking for a lot, but it would allow us to complete Sweeps and allow you to spend more time writing GAs, reviewing GANs, or focusing on other GARs (or whatever else it is you do to improve Wikipedia) as well as finish ahead of the two-year mark coming up in August. I recognize that this can be a difficult process at times and appreciate your tenacity in spending time in ensuring the quality of the older GAs. Feel free to recruit other editors who have reviewed GANs in the past and might be interested in the process. The more editors, the less the workload, and hopefully the faster this will be completed. Forcing images

I was wondering if you could help me out on something, I want to know how one can tell when an editor is forcing an image size? In doing GA reviews I want to be able to identify when people are forcing image sizes but I don't know how to tell. In a previous GA review you did for one of my articles you warned against this and so I'm assuming you must be able to see when the image is forced. Your help on this is appreciated. Ring Line GT

Hi. I was wondering if you had seen the latest comments on this nomination? I wanted to close this soon, as it is pretty old, but it does not have clear consensus to pass, and Nergaal's objection seems valid (it really is difficult for people not familiar with the layout to understand which stations in the lower infobox image are part of the line). If nothing changes, it will have to close with no consensus, but fixing this image (just a colour change/bolding might do it?) would allow it to pass, imo.

GA/GANs by a spam editor

FYI, you reviewed a GAN by Zithan (talk · contribs) a sockpuppet of the crat/OS Nichalp used to write spam articles for clients in return for pay. Although he has now blanked the identifying stuff I still have screenshots of it [5]. Talk:Marketing performance measurement and management/GA1. You might want to be careful as in one paid article Zithan wrote, all the frauds/violations of corporate law committed by the client was omitted. So the article might conveniently overlook quite a lot of stuff YellowMonkey (cricket calendar poll!) 01:17, 15 June 2009 (UTC)

Thanks to everyone's dedicated efforts to the GA Sweeps process, a total of 290 articles were swept in June! Last month was our second most successful month in reviewing articles (after May). We are currently over 70% done with Sweeps, with just under 800 articles left to review. With nearly 50 members, that averages out to about 15 articles per person. If each member reviews an article every other day this month (or several!), we'll be completely finished. This may sound difficult, but if everyone completes their reviews, Sweeps would be completed in less than two years when we first started (with only four members!). With the conclusion of Sweeps, each editor could spend more time writing GAs, reviewing at the backlogged GAN, or focusing on other GARs. Again, I want to thank you for using your time to ensure the quality of the older GAs. Feel free to recruit other editors who have reviewed GANs in the past and might be interested in the process. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

SM91

Hi Arsenikk! I decided to break my spell of no new articles by adding another article about one of the former Oslo tram models, in this case the SM91 which I'm afraid gained a bit of notoriety in that city. I wonder if you can help me with that one, since your rail literature is better than mine. (I have seen you make some impressive expansions to some other articles related to the Oslo tram system). My greatest regret with the article I just wrote is that it almost totally ignores the tram's career as "M25" in Gothenburg, and the magnitude of that ignorance became clear when I saw the Swedish Wikipedia article. I feel I may have done something along the lines of writing an article on Kåre Willoch, with a main focus on his career as fylkesmann instead of prime minister. Good work on the article. Unfortunetly, I have not been able to find any good sources about the SM91. I looked through all the issues of Lokaltrafikk I had (which is all but a few of the issues), but found nothing. Otherwise I don't have any books that cover the topic, and I don't think there are any books that cover the time period. Concerning the scope, I ended up something similar with the Ullevål Hageby Line, where most of the article currently deals with the 1.6 km Rikshospitalet extention, and not the first 125 years of the line's history. There may be some books in Swedish about the Gothenburg trams, but I don't have any such. If I come over somthing, I'll tell you and write about it. Keep up the good work. Thanks :-) I rewrote the article slightly so that it explicitly says that it is about the trams career in Oslo, and set up a red link to M25 to give readers/editors a subtle hint that there is a gaping hole in the coverage here. Hopefully someone will fill in the gap eventually. I think the the fact that sources are hard to come by on historical subjects has been a bane to almost all Wikipedia editors. I have one question about the article; it says that the Viennese Class T tram "could not be operated on the Briskeby Line and the loop at Jar on the Ekeberg Line." 2009 election figure

Hi, thanks for making the Storting seat image. There is one mistake there because two of the yellow seats (KrF) should have been dark green (Sp), and that change would suddenly give the non-socialists a majority.

• re: references go at the end of sentences, not in the middle

In an example sentence: The new owners named the company Xyz in October, 1940. If source A verifies the name and date, but source B only verifies the name, would you put reference A at the name and B at the end of sentence, or would you put them both at the end of the sentence?

• In a paragraph with multiple sentences, each stating a fact that needs to be referenced, where all of the facts are from the same source, is it sufficient to put a single reference at the end of the paragraph, or is it necessary to put a reference a the end of each sentence that states a fact needing a reference?

Personally I never put references in the middle of the sentence, unless part of the sentence is totally unverified. In the case you mention first, I would put two references at the end. I am sure that other people might do it otherwise, but I personally feel that readability is more important than exact pinpointing of the references. In the second case, I always put a single source at the end of a paragraph. If you look at Braathens SAFE Flight 139 that I wrote a few days ago, the first paragraph under 'hijacking' has two references. Neither reference supports all the claims in the whole sentence, but in between them they do. The book does not mention the type of aircraft (i.e. the -205 suffix) while the web site does not mention the name (i.e. Harald Gille). Otherwise the two references both state all the other facts in the sentence. All the remaining information until ref 3 is then referenced in that ref, also those sentences that are not referenced. This practice some people do not like, but it looks a lot better than having one reference per sentence, which really breaks up the article. Hope that was a helpful answer. Yes, helpful. Another question - Picture positioning - I have 4 pics in the article - 2 are posiioned on the right, and 2 are L/R sandwiching text which I need to change. What is a preferred positioning? all on one side?, alternating left then right? I could move left-sandwich pic to the right in a different paragraph - any suggestions? Ideally, you want to avoid sandwiching, positioning the images alternately right and left, and in chronological order and with even distances at the point in text where they are relevant. Planes (and other vehicles) should be traveling into the article (i.e. a plane with the front to the right should be left-aligned and vice versa) Of course, you cannot do all of that unless you have an infinite number of good images, so you just have to pick some of the images. The rule on sandwiching is absolute (it has to do with accessibility), everything else is a matter of aesthetics—which is important to give Wikipedia a professional look. Personally, I would have left-aligned image number two from the top, and moved the orange plane to the right, putting the two bottom images on top of each other, although with a paragraph of text between them. Take all the time you need. The lead does not need references as long as everything is referenced in the body. However, there may be a few instances where repeating a reference in the lead is important, but only in highly controversial articles (not aviation and the likes, but perhaps stuff on conspiracies or natural selection and the like). I could not access the deletion log of the template, and simply asked an admin to look at it for me, so that the TfD could located (which I could not do after some searching). It was his choice to perform a speedy deletion, since it was a clear-cut case. Had I been an admin myself, I would have performed a speedy deletion momentarily, since it meets the speedy deletion criteria. Windmills

Arsenikk, you create a lot of Norway related articles. As you are probably aware, I've created many lists of windmills by country. Are there any windmills in Norway, other than wind turbines? If less than 20 then they can be added to the List of windmills as a subsection of Europe. More than 20 would justify a stand-alone list. Mjroots (talk) 09:23, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

Can't say I have ever come across any, although I've seen them in Sweden, so they got to have been in Norway at some time. For the record, I found this list of current wind turbines (I just came across it and wanted to archive it somewhere, I know you're not really interested this new, fancy stuff). One problem is that in Norwegian, the word vindmølle (windmill) is used for both windmills and wind turbines, so searching about the old stuff is a bit difficult. To translate a section from the Norwegian Wikipedia: "Norway had lots of water power to run mills; therefore only a handful of windmills were built in our country [sic] and most had a short life-span." I made a search on the official tourist site, which in theory lists all tourist destinations in Norway, and there was not hits on any windmills (except wind turbines and a restaurant). I cannot say I have ever heard of any, so I guess we'll just have to presume there are none left, and haven't been any in a long time. Arsenikk ^(talk) 12:05, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

This was an interesting question so I had to do some searching. The best image I found was this. Searching in Trondheim byleksikon I found that it mentioned three separate windmills in Trondheim, all destroyed. In Bergen, Bergen byleksikon mentions one windmill at Sydneshaugen. I think it would be hard to create a list when the sources are so spare. The lack of mills is probably because Norway has a lot of hydro power. Rettetast (talk) 13:08, 2 December 2009 (UTC)

To ensure that everyone who signed up is still committed to participating in the 2010 WikiCup, it is required that you remove your name from this list! I don't think so. Take a look at the front of this image of a Di 1. Notice that there are three windows at the front. Instead, I would think the images was of NSB Class 66 (per this image) since there are four center windows and two side windows that are slightly up on the sides. Thanks for the kind words. It was fixed up by the now banned user User:This Feels Right. As for my user page, I simply copied the design from someone else (I think on the Norwegian Wikipedia). Speaking as someone who has also had TW fail to complete all the edits required for an AfD, CfD, and other similar multi edit scripts, PLEASE check your contributions after each nomination, to see if ALL the edits were indeed made. I have personally experienced many TW failures in this regard, with TW cheerfully (incorrectly) reporting each edit was made in its script box. GA Sweeps update

WikiCup 2010 and Dermatology-related content

I noticed that you are participating in the 2010 WikiCup. I have been working on the Bolognia push which is a project to make sure Wikipedia has an article (or redirect) on every know cutaneous condition. With that being said, there are still many cutaneous condition stubs to be made, and Bolognia could be a source for a lot of DYK articles, etc. Therefore, I was thinking maybe we could help one another... a competative WikiCup that also serves to improve dermatologic content on Wikipedia. As I have been editing for a few years now, only now have I really started to work more for GA status articles as I do enjoy the challenge and collaboration that goes with each submission. Illinois Tollway

Thank you for your helpful comments. I am a bit puzzled. Originally, I put the coordinates of the intersection of I-57 and the Tri-State Tollway in the text of the article. In your first review, you said that coordinates can't be in the main text. Although I have seen such coordinates in the main text of other articles, I deferred to you and move the coordinates to a footnote. Now in the second review, you comment that footnote 69 is not a reference. May I move the coordinates back to the main text, or how do you want me to fix this? In a sense, it was original research because all of the coordinates I have added to articles were obtained by locating the point on the map and copying the coordinates into a template. We are half way through round one of the WikiCup. We've had some shakeups regarding late entries, flag changes and early dropouts, but the competition is now established- there will be no more flag changes or new competitors. Congratulations to Sasata (submissions), our current leader, who, at the time of writing, has more listed points than Hunter Kahn (submissions) and TonyTheTiger (submissions) (second and third place respectively) combined. A special well done also goes to Fetchcomms (submissions)- his artcle Jewel Box (St. Louis, Missouri) was the first content to score points in the competition.

Around half of competitors are yet to score. Please remember to submit content soon after it is promoted, so that the judges are able to review entries. 64 of the 149 current competitors will advance to round 2- if you currently have no points, do not worry, as over half of the current top 64 have under 50 points. Everyone needs to get their entries in now to guarantee their places in round 2! If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Any questions directly related to the points raised are best asked and answered on the review page. Feel free to ask questions, either directly under my points or at the end. Reviewers sometimes makes mistakes, so if you disagree you it is always better to speak up. How you fix the article (in one batch or in several edits in one) is no concern of mine; do what you are most comfortable doing. What is very nice is if you tell the reviewer once you feel you have addressed everything. The reviewer will have watchlisted the review page, so a message there is normally fine. If this is your first nomination, I must say I am impressed. Although a short article, the mistakes you make are the sort that even veteran nominators could have coughed up; and many of the n00b errors which frequent nominations are lacking :) It shouldn't take that long to fix things up. One small comments: the normal waiting time at GAN is about a month, but I try to prioritize first-time nominators, so next time you may have a much longer wait. February GA Sweeps update

Progress as of January 2010

Thanks to everyone's efforts to the GA Sweeps process, we are currently over 95% done with around 130 articles left to be swept! Currently there are over 50 members participating in Sweeps, that averages out to about 3 articles per person! If each member reviews an article once a week this month (or several!), we'll be completely finished. At that point, awards will be handed out to reviewers. Per my message last month, although we did not review 100 articles last month, I still made a donation of $90 (we had 90 reviews completed/initiated) to Wikipedia Forever on behalf of all GA Sweeps reviewers. I would like to thank everyone's efforts for last month, and ask for additional effort this month so we can be finished. I know you have to be sick of seeing these updates (as well as Sweeps itself) by now, so please do consider reviewing a few articles if you haven't reviewed in a while. new Biman lego

To be honest, I found the logo on a third-party web site, checked that it was the same as on the article and then uploaded. The problem is that the web site of Biman hasn't even managed to update to their "current" logo, so it is going to be virtually impossible to find an image file of the new logo. El Al

First deletion of C-46 Commando photos was not explained at all. I find these photos unique because they present human aspect of both crew and passengers in the very early days of the company, and show passengers transportation in semi-cargo plane to the desolated airfield of Eilat. Trying to evade argument I changed the relevant sentence and added a reference to the same (still undeleted) photos in other articles (<nocode<</nocode>). You asked for citation and you got it (Or are these photos not good enough evidence to prove the statement?) Well, now you even deleted the reference and ask again for a citation for the still existing statement which is supported ONLY by the very photographs you deleted. Pls. explain. Etan J. Feel free to add the images in a suitable place; however, this article is trying to be a featured article, so there can be no gallery and references need to be references. You cannot just refer readers to another article in a reference for images, it is not the way things are done here. As for references, using images is original research and cannot be used in a featured article (nor any other article for that matter). I honestly don't care so much about this article, so if other editors are going to be making non-standard violations of guidelines and policy, I can stop copy editing and support a delisting. GA review of Hobart International Airport: questions

Hello Arsenikk, thankyou for your quick and efficient review of this article. I have a few questions for you in regard to this review.

• File:Checkin-hbtairport.jpg should use the upright syntax.... please explain
• The images that are hosted on en.wikipedia should be moved to the Commons. This tool makes it easy.... I get a litle confused about licences, are all the non-commens pictures eligble for commens?
• The operational history is lacking. When were various routes introduced? When did different airlines arrive? When were there international services? - Can you give me an example article on which i can learn from?
• Could you mention the actual runway lengths, not just the aircraft they allowed to run (keep that, just add the lengths).... The runway lengths are mentioned. Can you be more specific?
• I would not call transferring ownership from the federal to state governments "privatization".... The federal government did in fact privatise the airport (and all aussie airports), ironically the tasmanian goverment purchased this particular airport. I have reworded that sentence, but would like further advise on this.
• What do you mean by "modern facility"? If it is only a single story and has no aerobridges, it is not what most people would regard "modern". Subjective terms like these are best left out.... I do not believe there are any pictures to demonstrate, but compared to what it used to look like and given that Hobart has a population of less than 200,000 it is a very good facilty. Please advise on how i can reword this.

Round one is over, and round two has begun! Congratulations to the 64 contestants who have made it through, but well done and thank you to all contestants who took part in our first round. A special well done goes to Sasata (submissions), our round one winner (1010 points), and to Hunter Kahn (submissions) and TonyTheTiger (submissions), who were second and third respectively (640 points/605 points). Sasata was awarded the most points for both good articles (300 points) and featured articles (600 points), and TonyTheTiger was awarded the most for featured topics (225 points), while Hunter Kahn claimed the most for good topics (70). Staxringold (submissions) claimed the most featured lists (240 points) and featured pictures (35 points), Geschichte (submissions) claimed the most for Did you know? entries (490 points), Jujutacular (submissions) claimed the most for featured sounds (70 points) and Candlewicke (submissions) claimed the most for In the news entries (40 points). No one claimed a featured portal or valued picture.

GA Sweeps Completed!

Thanks to everyone's amazing efforts in February, we have reviewed all of the articles and are now finished with Sweeps! There are still about 30 articles currently on hold, and once those reviews are completed, I will send you a final message about Sweeps process stats including the total number of articles that were passed and failed. If you have one of these open reviews, be sure to update your count when the review is completed so I can compile the stats. You can except to receive your award for reviewing within the next week or two. Although the majority of the editors did not start Sweeps at the beginning in August 2007 (myself included), over 50 editors have all come together to complete a monumental task and improve many articles in the process. I commend you for sticking with this often challenging task and strengthening the integrity of the GA WikiProject as well as the GAs themselves. I invite you to take a break from reviewing (don't want you to burn out!) and then consider returning/starting to review GANs and/or contribute to GAR reviews. Just a quick note. I haven't reviewed the list at all really, but a quick thing stood out for me. As usual, using my Safari (under Mac OS X) browser, I had some sorting issues. So...

• End sorts incorrectly, I'd guess because you have a mix of text and numbers.
• Secretary table: names seem to not be sorted by surname.
• Notes aren't referenced.

Thanks for the comments. I fixed the sorting, but regarding the notes, I am not quite sure how to do it technically (sticking a ref inside a ref didn't work) and the notes are referenced from exactly the same place as the whole table, namely ref 2. Since the table isn't referenced at a per-entry level, but only overall (it being composed from a single source), I personally don't see the need to reference the notes. Hi Arsenikk! Thank you so much for the reviews of transportation articles at FAR. There are a couple of articles there now that might interest you, so I thought I would drop you a note:

• Wikipedia:Featured article review/Manila Light Rail Transit System/archive1 - You added a delist declaration last November (yes, it's been hanging around that long!), but the article has had a lot of work since then, and it would be great if you could take another look.
• Wikipedia:Featured article review/Gol Transportes Aéreos Flight 1907/archive1 - I don't know if you have any interest in getting involved in this one, but more opinions are definitely needed.

Yes, the references aren't good enough. And it isn't really that well written (it's okay, just not FA standard), and I spotted some MOS errors. The FAR is a risky business; with half the articles virtually nothing is done, while with some, everything is corrected within days or weeks. But if either of us (not being regular FAC participants) can see it doesn't meet the criteria, then it most certainly does not. Arsenikk ^(talk) 13:35, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

Okay, that was a bit poorly worded. What I meant is that things go fine if "nothing" happens and the article is delisted in three to four weeks. However, I have never managed to write an FA article (nor has Geschichte) and although we are both most excellent article writers (particularly regarding content), at least I myself feel uncomfortable when it gets down to the nit-picky details of a featured review, because I am never 100% sure of the criteria and never able to get the prose up to the last inch needed to get it past FA. However, I sometimes find myself defending the FA criteria from other editors, often less experienced than myself, where neither party is able to create featured prose. I can hammer down the MOS and content, but it kind of stops there. And often feel I get the backing I need at FAR (unlike FAC). That is not in any way to say that I am recommending that the article above (or any other) not be nominated. Arsenikk ^(talk) 10:03, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
