in memory of the birthday of a friend who showed me art such as this, and of Vami --- yes, you are so right about missing articles -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:08, 7 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

So sad about Vami. I thought he was a young guy. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:30, 7 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
24, pictured. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:06, 7 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Suicide at just 24?? Makes it even sadder. You never know what somebody is going through though to feel like that is the only way out. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 08:25, 8 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes, and especially if - as they all said who wrote condolences - he talked and joked just before. I never "spoke" to him, but wrote on his talk, and we chatted, - he was the most promising contributor WP:QAI had. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:08, 8 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
9 March: the premiere of Nabucco - I always wanted to go to that theatre where Idomeneo premiered, and they played Mozart! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:08, 9 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
can you perhaps help with Percy Adlon? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:05, 12 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
A crossdresser? :-) LOL. I'll have a look tomorrow. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:04, 12 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you! - Aribert Reimann died, met him once, - sad. Rossini's Petite messe solennelle was premiered on 14 March 1864, - when I listen to the desolate Agnus Dei I think of Vami_IV. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:20, 14 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
I added a bit on Adlon, but I think it's one of those which would be best recreated and fully sourced. It's scrappy to say the least! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 13:01, 17 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you so much for adding, - it's no longer as crappy as it was. I brought him back from the archive for one more chance IAR. I'm still on vacation so won't be much help. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:03, 18 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
I've seen Baghdad Cafe, an excellent film but I wasn't familar with him, though I had heard of the hoteliers. I'll have to see more of his films. His earlier documentaries look interesting too. I see he also made a film in 1990 about Cole Porter so obviously appreciates jazz/the Great American Songbook like I do. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 09:55, 18 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Martin Schulte (jazz guitarist) is missing, excellent jazz guitarist from Germany [1] The legal scholar of the same name is also missing! [2]. Will have to start if I can find the sources. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:46, 20 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes, also the father of Aribert Reimann, the father leading the Domchor in Berlin, as Mendelssohn did before. Domchor also missing, and no end. - I am sorry that we were too slow for Percy Adlon, but we could bring him to Main page honours after all just by adding one of his films. DYK isn't the same as RD in terms of public interest, but better than nothing. I'll upload pics from 12 March, Madeira, promised. Had to expand Reimann first, and it's still too little for such a figure in music history. Vacation ... - but I'm back home now, after long travel yesterday. Thought of you stopping over in Lisbon. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:49, 20 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
You were in Portugal? That's nice! Another great one who is missing Hubert Nuss, pianist. Plays a lot of interesting abstract non-diatonic chords, definitely a Schoenberg influence, he's a real master of harmony. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:22, 20 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
I returned from Madeira (said so above), first set of pics uploaded. I managed! - Interesting pianist. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:25, 20 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Next day, around Porto da Cruz, on Bach's birthday --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:07, 21 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Lovely place. I did some work on Madeira and the Azores a while back. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 08:46, 22 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
thank you for that! - a few new pics, and two people for DYK --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:25, 26 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Template:Madeira is still missing. I'll have to fix that some time! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:55, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
... and churches are missing, even the one pictured on my talk, even in Portuguese. I wanted to change that today, but found another article of a person who died, - have 4 among the noms - a sad record I think - 3 of them waiting (for support) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:30, 28 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
The church still missing, but more pics around it uploaded. I listen to Bach's St John Passion today, - 300 years after it was first performed. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:49, 29 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Can you categorize your commons photos so people can find them? Some very nice pics! I see Rosie likes the ginger Madeiran Kitty! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 20:08, 29 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
I give them as many categories as I can think of. - I woke up the yawning creature on the wall! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:43, 29 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Where? File:Porto Moniz, Madeira, morning red sky.jpg for instance isn't even categorized in the commons as Porto Moniz?♦ Dr. Blofeld 16:06, 30 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
I make silly mistakes like hitting "publish" too soon - happy Easter! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 23:20, 30 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Happy Easter! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 14:03, 31 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
Two days later in time, a different music, - Happy Easter! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:13, 31 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
And the following day another extremely different piece. - I gave the church a stubby start. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:29, 1 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Reminds me to get back to language learning again and to develop my Portuguese! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 07:06, 2 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Did you go to Cabo Girão? ♦ Dr. Blofeld 11:20, 5 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Twice in the past, but not this time. It's very touristy. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:44, 6 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia Library Request Support svp edit

Hi,

Sorry for using your talk page (I hope your "ATTENTION!" notice does not include "Wikipedia Library Requests" after this), but I couldn't think of a better way to access you. Proposed deletion of Kikpeou edit

The article Kikpeou has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No WP:RS, fails WP:NPLACE, the only ref is from an unrecognizable source.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

April music edit

story · music · places

I like to see Appalachian Spring on the Main page today (not by me, just interested and reviewed), and I also made it my story. - How do you like the statue (look up places)? - I was undecided so show three versions ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:44, 6 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

What statue? ♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:42, 6 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
didn't I say "look up places"? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:55, 6 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes, but no pictures came out visibly when I clicked it. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 17:57, 6 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Another user said they don't show, - perhaps I should build smaller groups. File:Hildegard von Bingen by Karlheinz Oswald, Eibingen, 1.jpg, and 2 and 3. - I came to ask if you could translate a bit more for Joe Viera, because I have already 3 RD articles open. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 10:06, 8 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
I'll look soon, I've seen a lot from Internationale Jazzwoche Burghausen ♦ Dr. Blofeld 10:09, 8 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you. - The statue is of Hildegard of Bingen, and as it happens, her Physica is on the Main page today, and Marian Anderson as my top story (by NBC, 1939), and below (on my talk) three people with raised arms, - and the place is the cherry blossom in Frauenstein --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:55, 9 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Ich habe einige Inhalte zu Viera hinzugefügt. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:20, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Danke! - Will check if enough for RD. I mentioned 3, 2 of those are on the Main page right now, but a 4th was added, - no end. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:29, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Hard to keep up with all the deaths! I'll see if I find a bit more over the next day or two. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 15:32, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes, and I always think: too bad they couldn't see their article in good shape while alive. Seiji Ozawa was such a mess, for example. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:35, 10 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
I looked at Viera a bit, - we may manage. The festival might be a bit more detailed, no? - plum tree blossom for Kalevi Kiviniemi in the snow - see my talk --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:43, 11 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
We managed! - My story today is about a piece composed for the Second Sunday after Easter 300 years ago, and I just returned from a (long) opera about the same age, with soprano Pretty Yende --Gerda Arendt (talk) 23:04, 14 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Well done! I will expand the festival article soon! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 07:00, 15 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
That would be great! - relief: the last of six RD articles in one week is now on the Main page. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 19:14, 18 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Sadly the legendary Dickey Betts is also one of them. RIP.. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 06:55, 19 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
RIP. Your chance to reference the article ;) --Gerda Arendt (talk) 07:06, 19 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
I transwikied the festival article, badly needs sourcing! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:07, 19 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thank you, - will look when I have time. The other looks more urgent to have more refs now. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:13, 19 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps Ritchie333 can look into it? Sourcing and improving Dickey Betts.. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 12:15, 19 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
perhaps - made one edit in April --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:59, 19 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
Done. Hope he's OK... ♦ Dr. Blofeld 08:38, 20 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

For Betts, just one para misses a citation, under Early ... - fine work! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 09:11, 20 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Here is an obit, - didn't check if it's already used or adding things, - I am busy with the other. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:15, 23 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

today a sad task turned into entertainment (yt at the bottom of his article, actually both) -- the latest pictures capture extreme weather --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:18, 23 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Michael Verhoeven, another one matching your expertise more than mine. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:23, 26 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Sad. Fantastic director, and leaves behind his lovely wife, Senta was one of the most stunning looking actresses in the 60s and 70s! ♦ Dr. Blofeld 19:01, 26 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

If you can, I would greatly appreciate if you could link the https://haw.wikipedia.org/wiki/Botuana Hawaiian Wikipedia page of Botswana to the English page.
