Articles to look at

edit

Regarding refactoring, etc., I don't know which category these would best fit into (considering overlap), but these are some articles that I think could be improved in accordance with this project:

  • Haredi Judaism (improvements to be made re. development of Chareidi Judaism, varying beliefs and positions within Chareidi Judaism, etc.)
  • Jews as a chosen people (currently oversimplifies and confuses distinctions among Orthodox Jews re. chosenness; doesn't clarify underlying philosophies behind the concept, nor does it sufficiently clarify the concept itself)
  • Moshe Chaim Luzzatto (Declared himself Moses? Godhead? This should be scrutinized.)
  • Joseph Soloveitchik (currently provides fundamentally left-wing account of Rabbi Soloveitchik)
  • Chabad (most especially Chabad#Controversies; currently severely POV and factually deficient)

  • Question: Why the need for this latest project by User:Ezra Wax, also, doesn't he know that it's "Haredi" and not "Chareidi" on Wikipedia as in Haredi Judaism? Do we really need this split from Wikipedia:WikiProject Judaism at the present time since a number of editors here seem to be Haredi and have not felt the need for a "split off"...yet? This move is premature at this time. IZAK 05:38, 24 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

Fiery Furnace

edit

I'd like to try to clean up and improve the pages about the story of the fiery furnace. The story of the fiery furnance has a lot of importance in the Jewish and Christian traditions, and had has a lot of cultural impact; Wikipedia ought to have better information about it. I've started by poking at the pages and suggesting some merges; I'd appreciate any help from project members on whatever relating to this subject, but specifically to help avoid sectarian bias in the articles and include a lot of solid information about many perspectives. Please leave any comments on the talk page of fiery furnace. Thanks! -- Tetraminoe 14:06, 30 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
