Pioneer articles

I've got Minto on my short list. I'm currently almost finished with an article on Jesse Applegate, and Lindsay Applegate needs an article too. Charles might not, but I've linked him in a couple places. I'll doublecheck my copy of Oregon Geographic Names for Breitenbusher, I'm pretty sure that's how it was spelled. I'm not sure he's particularly notable. I've noticed a lot of the pioneers had Liberty ships named after them as well, so that might be another source for ideas. Katr67 20:02, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

I changed the Breitenbush, Oregon article to be more accurate. I don't think Lewis Breitenbusher or John Breitenbush are notable enough on their own. One g-hit for Lewis: http://www.oregonpioneers.com/marion/britbush.htm , source is probably OGN... Katr67 18:47, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

Capitol Names book

I've added the first stub from the book that lists the bios of every name (158 of 'em) painted in the House and Senate chambers at the Capitol. It's a tiny book, all these will need to be expanded. Many will, of course, already have articles. Katr67 05:42, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

• Martin d'Aguilar, (not sure this name needs Spanish accents), many Google references to Aguilar, including that he sailed as far north as the Columbia River or up into Washington, more stuff needs to be added to article
• Chief Comcomly, interesting guy, could be expanded greatly
• Thomas Condon, ditto
• François X. Matthieu, lots of material on the 'net for expansion, also search for F.X. Mattieu

Temp page

I made a page that right now is just the people from the book who don't have articles: User talk:Katr67/List of Capitol names/Temp. It might be interesting to fill it out with the other 104 names. Some of the disambiguated links don't match what other people on the project have called them--I'm not attached to the way I've done them (feel free to edit the page), but let's make sure we communicate and fix redlinks if any of these folks get new articles. Recent Source FYI

Downloading is good of the Scott book, but just an FYI in regards to all the Google books you download: you only download an image based version so text search no longer works (though maybe non-free versions of Adobe allow search), so the table of contents is your main search weapon or pull it up on Google and search that way too. Also the Horner: Oregon: Her History Her Men book is there too. It has lots of pictures in it and is pre 1923 so all in the public domain. Aboutmovies 21:27, 11 June 2007 (UTC)

Formatting change/hindsight from Forsyth

So, I think that collapsible sections are very useful for a wikiproject, esp. when there are long lists of things. However, I just noticed that the template I used is intended for archived discussions, so it puts an irrelevant and off-putting note at the top of each section. That's no good!

Curious what people think about the concept, in general. If you guys like it, I'll take a look around for a more appropriate template.

Southern Oregon Historical Society has a large collection of visual and text resources about the life of Pinto Colvig an important article for Oregon :
