Having just read it, I found your take on White interesting, Hawkeye7. Is that the consensus on his book among Australian strategists? I note that Michael Shoebridge does not accept White's central tenet that the US can no longer be trusted to stay engaged in Asia, but more widely? I have to say that an independent defence policy and sea denial make a lot of sense to me, although there are obvious errors in a couple of places such as with the size of the new patrol boats, and I wonder at the practicality of developing nuclear weapons and its effects on proliferation.
