Monthly focus

I think an appropriate topic for the second issue is: What is WP:MED?, a brief and general overview of who we are and what activities we participate in. Bluerasberry, would you be interested in writing this? I ask because, although you are not the user longest here, I feel through your professional collaborations, WPMF work and off-wiki contacts you may be most away of the diversity of users. You may also be able to contact a number of users who can help you describe these things:

I'd ask you to write a short, 3-4 paragraph focus section about What WP:MED is. In this, some things you could focus on include:

• Briefly, a description of the scope of articles we deal with, and the quality (GA/FA etc) of the articles.
• Briefly, a history of WPMED (when and why it was formed, how it grew, use in literature)
• Some coverage of our very diverse user base (geographical, ethnic, professional, gender, etc.)
• A brief description of WPMED's many current activities, including task forces, MEDRS enforcement, translation, professional and student collaborations, and possibly being a focus of academic attention
• A brief description of WPMED's historical activities, including the stub cup, missing articles, task forces (now mostly defunct) and other historical activities.
• Briefly, some mention of how WPMF arose as a result of inter-wiki collaborations.

These are just suggestions. I think this would be an excellent topic to cover in our section issue and look forward to your reply. --LT910001 (talk) 01:15, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
