Accommodation edit

I've removed the Parnell-focused entries in the list since these are terrible options for the 2024 venue in the city. These might be some good options to consider for the area:

  • $300-$400 range
    • Airedale Boutique Suites
    • Cordis
    • Pullman Auckland Hotel & Apartments
  • $200-$300 range
    • Copthorne Hotel Auckland City
    • Four Points by Sheraton Auckland
    • Mercure Auckland Queen Street
    • The Quadrant Hotel & Suites
  • Less than $200
    • Haka House Auckland City
    • Kiwi International Hotel

In general I'd recommend looking at places north of Albert Park, or around the Karangahape Road/Symonds Street intersection area, because the Queen Street gully is extremely steep near AUT! Also note that a lot of what comes up when you Google the Symonds Street area is student-focused accommodation. --Prosperosity (talk) 02:18, 1 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Lodging? edit

Travelling from Golden Bay is less than straightforward sometimes as flights are limited. In addition, I'm in Wellington a few days prior to the WikiCon, currently booked to fly home on Wed, 20 March. If somebody could put me up in Auckland and give me a desk to do a bit of work during the day, I could come up from Wellington on Tuesday evening (19 March) or Wednesday morning, and would fly home on Monday morning (26 March). I can bring things like bedding or sleeping bag to make things simpler. Anyone able to help? Schwede66 18:34, 18 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Beeswaxcandle:, can you think of any good options? (unfortunately I live in a shoebox!) --Prosperosity (talk) 05:05, 20 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
My situation has changed slightly. I'm more likely to arrive in Auckland on Friday; that may "lighten the load" on a prospective host. Schwede66 02:59, 22 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
I'll be staying in a hotel. Thanks, Dianne, for organising that. Schwede66 17:37, 20 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
