I would like to suggest the Featured Article for this day to be Michael Schumacher. This is the final Grand prix of the 2006 Formula One Season, and is his last race as he will be retiring. My unauthorized addition of Rugby World Cup edit

- I'm not sure what the process is for this, but I would love to see the World Cup promoted to the front page. As far as I know there have not been any rugby articles on the front page as featured articles thus far, so it should be interesting. Cvene64 14:11, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

- Raul654 schedules the featured articles appearing on the main page, and he's already reverted you once. I'd think it'd be a good idea not to keep adding it. — TKD::Talk 19:33, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
- Why hasn't he put it up yet? Its been on the request page for a while now and FA Premier League went up more recently (on the request page) and has already been todays featured article.--HamedogTalk|@ 03:38, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- I know that there is an attempt to space the subjects of the articles out (ie. Stars Wars films could not go after each other). FIFA World Cup was on the front page in June, and I think in July the Rugby World Cup became an FA. But since then two more soccer articles have gone on the front page (Manchester City F.C. and [[FA Premier League]). I thought it would be cool for the RWC to be on the main page around the same time RWC 2007 kicks off next year, but Hamedog told me that something like that waas not allowed, but the FIFA WC went on the main page the day before the 2006 WC started...so whats the deal? - Bottom line is, don't schedule the articles yourself as there's a procedure preset for scheduling and it'll just be reverted by admins if you violate it (like any other gudeline). If you wish for your article to go on as soon as possible because you feel it's been on request too long, the best thing you can do is discuss this with the FA director, you'll probably get your article featured pretty soon though as now you've drawn attention to it, there are close to a hundred requests per month and with the guidelines set forth to have articles spaced out by subject (so one subject doesn't seem favored or is biasely more popular) and giving more popular subjects headway (seeing as people tend to go crazy mad whenever obscure objects are put on the main page) then it's likely any requester will wait months before his or her article is ever chosen. If you really don't want to wait long, talk to the FA director... like I said though, this will probably get it featured faster now simply because you were brought attention to it, but for next time that's the best to do in this case. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 07:35, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for your explaining reply. Rugby World Cup is a popular subject, so it really should of gone up by know - "giving more popular subjects headway". It would be great if we could get this to be today's FA the day before the 2007 Rugby World Cup starts although Raul654 has said he prefers that "Today's Featured Article" are not too similar to items ITN, which would obviously conflict.--HamedogTalk|@ 07:56, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah it is a popular topic, so you have more chance of getting featured than if it were like, ammonia, lol, but sports are also very popular, so there'll tend to be dozens of sports related featured artcles to chose from, which means that automatically your has a longer list than say ammonia would, though I'm not sure if ammonia is an FA, I'm just using it as an example, my point in all this is, talk to the FA director directly, he's not a tyrant he'll listen. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 08:28, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
